...that Snape loves dark chocolate. The more bitter, the better.

Seven votes for! ([livejournal.com profile] etrangere, [livejournal.com profile] sylvadin, [livejournal.com profile] tudorpot, [livejournal.com profile] corvus_coronis, [livejournal.com profile] mingbutterfly, [livejournal.com profile] imafarmgirl, [livejournal.com profile] mehitobel_ny, who claims that he only breaks off a crumb each year on his birthday, which makes him even more irritable, and harbors a secret theory that he actually prefers potato knishes)

Five votes against! ([livejournal.com profile] julian_black, who votes for junk food, [livejournal.com profile] rook543, who votes for butterscotch, [livejournal.com profile] mariannelee, who votes for milk chocolate, [livejournal.com profile] artystone, who votes for Cheez Doodles, and [livejournal.com profile] subrosax, who votes for Walkers Lamb & Mint Crisps!)

One vote for both dark chocolate and Walkers Lamb & Mint Crisps from [livejournal.com profile] nehalenia!

I suspect he'd find anything below a 70% cacao content to be too sweet... And none of that Dutch-process alkali tainted crap either...

Sometimes, I think that.

And then there are other times when I imagine he mows down on the most godawful sugary-sweet junk food he can get his hands on, and if it's chocolate that's okay, but he doesn't particularly care one way or another about chocolate except as a means of getting his sugar fix. I always imagine him as someone with completely fucked-up eating habits, for some reason.

If he were a Muggle, he'd be a programmer. And in his cubicle, he'd have a wastebasket full of vending-machine snackfood wrappers and empty Pop-Tarts boxes.

Hmm. So do I put you as "for" or "against"?

And he would SO be a programmer, ranting about the purity of UNIX.

I'm going to be the Evil one and say "against." I don't see him caring about anything he eats or drinks one way or another--except when he believes it will help him make the right impression.

So while I think he could play to snobby tastes by stating a preference for, say, 74% cacao single-origin chocolate, he'd probably grab a Butterfinger or a packet of raspberry Zingers on the way home. Or maybe something salty--I can definitely see him being a Funyuns or BBQ-potato-chip kind of guy.

Snape eating Funyuns!!! OMG, I'm dying here.

I wonder what his position would be on pork rinds.

I wonder if Snape would have absorbed class prejudices so completely (especially given his awkward social position), that he would never eat something "cheap" or "tacky" even in private?

Of course, this is like speculating on whether Beethoven would prefer M&Ms to Smarties.

So you can put me down as "for," if you wish. ;-)

Strong, dark and bitter, most definitely. He wouldn't go for anything that didn't have a kick to it. I'd bet that Elf wine he had would have been of the strong, dry sort too.

I vote for butterscotch. Chocolate is far too...pedestrian. All those chocoholic fools, spending all their time going on about chocolate...and not sstudying for potions! And THAT is why they will NEVER be great wizards.

I am going to join with the naysayers. No chocolate for Snape. I say he's a Walkers Lamb& Mint Crisps man. Snape is not a candy consumer. He's a candy confiscator.

Lamb and Mint crisps? Only the British could come up with something that sounds so utterly nauseating. Sounds about right, though.

I'd like to think he's an aficionado of potato knishes, but I find that extremely implausible. Dark chocolate? I'd say yes, but that he's stingy with it. Celebrates his birthday by breaking off a crumb from a bar he bought years ago. It's stale and only makes him more irritable.

I'm with you on the dark chocolate. At least 64% daaaark.

Tho it doesn't mean he wouldn't eat the other stuff too.

Dark bitter chocolate and lamb/mint crisps. Yeah, I think that's the sort of shameful secret he'd hide from the world. ;-)
