I am a little bummed. I may be getting laid off at my "day job".

For four years this little job has helped me stay on even keel. I make my own schedule. I can take whole months off at a time and nobody even blinks. I have grown to appreciate it tremendously, because it is there for me in the lean months.

Now I may be jobless. How many jobs out there are better than minimum wage, let you set your own schedule, do legal research all day on the net (very fun!), and generally let you motivate yourself and do your job with no interference from anyone else? Plus I can listen to my headphones, wear jeans, and have anything I want on my desk.

*sigh*

And it was fun. Er, is fun...haven't lost it yet.

Strange that it coincides with a sudden upsurge in my writing. Perhaps it is the universe letting me know that it's time to take a chance and write that novel. Or maybe I'm just going to sleep in a cardboard box under the freeway. (That was a joke. Really. I hope.)

man it sucks if the job ends, but you know you arent going to be sleeping in a card board box under the overpass. something will turn up. you just gotta have faith and perseverence. If I had not had both of those, I would have never made it through Japan. LOL

It just means that I have to get away from the evil cable modem and work harder at my other occupations. *sigh* Real life intrudes, as always...

dont i know it. there are parts about this job that i really like. they pay me a good wage and i spend more time doing crosswords, writing in my journal, and crocheting scarves than i do teaching. there just isnt enough work for me to do. right now i am making a mix cd to be played on the junior highs pa system during lunch. this job aint that bad, but honestly, the boredom is killing me. i need to be engaged or i just want to slit my wrists. i am going to miss dsl here. the dsl is ridiculously fast here in japan. i adore it. sigh.
