A non-DH entry
Jul. 23rd, 2007 09:28 pmI know you're shocked.
Anyway, news from the Grandma front. She has now called police/911 twice in the last week in response to imagined break-ins from a friend she hasn't seen in two and a half years (my grandmother ended up targeting her in her paranoia, and it's never stopped--my mom finally had to ask the friend not to come around again (ages ago)). The first of the police/911 calls was because she heard a noise, which turned out to be her furnace.
The second call involved her reporting that she had been on the head and sprayed in the face with something. She was distraught because her house was ransacked. She actually did the ransacking herself, because she had forgotten that she had bought a new purse, and she tore the house apart looking for it. Then later she didn't remember tearing the house apart.
In unrelated yet meh news, I am cringing under a stack of bills.
In more unrelated meh news, I was given a task of filing to do, and told by my nice boss that it would take an hour. When I reached the employee whose work I would be doing, I found three foot-high stacks of paperwork (which was only half of it) and told that it was filing AND entering it all into a spreadsheet. One third of one stack took four hours. Guess who is coming in tomorrow on her day off to attempt to at least make a dent in it.
In even more unrelated meh news, someone left me positive feedback, but in the content of said feedback basically called me a liar. Okay, maybe it wasn't that straightforward, but still. I've emailed said buyer, but I doubt I'll get an answer to back up--or even explain--their view.
I am trying to be cheerful, but it just isn't working, and realizing that I still have a pile full of stuff to take care of (costume, packing for multiple trips, watching a nine-year old for a weekend, doing a show at my parents' little town fair in the northern Lower Peninsula) is making me a bit crazy.

Date: 2007-07-24 03:38 am (UTC)Life can be overwhelming at times, but taking some time just for yourself to read, stare out a window while drinking something warm, or a good night's sleep, can make all the difference.

Date: 2007-07-24 02:05 pm (UTC)Also, taking walks and feeding squirrels or geese or some sort of wild-ish animal calms me down immensely. So if you've got any of those nearby, they always like to be fed! lol

Date: 2007-07-24 07:12 pm (UTC)Im sorry, but this a Non-Potter post, and as such can not be allowed on LJ for at least 4 more weeks!
After the LJ-Potter season passes, then you can post non-Potter entries to your hearts content, but until that time ant further Potterless posts may result in your page being blacklisted as an "undesireable". LJ is obviously for "I just read HP 7 faster than all of you..." posts, and for no other posts until this time of the new books 'newness' wears off.
Thank you,
The LJ/Potter police
