I'm trying to catch up with the flist, and it's taking much longer than normal because there is just so much I want to respond to.
I made a nice leap with the costume last night, and today I will go out and buy another piece for it because I decided that the original piece was way too garish and fugly. I bought it reluctantly because the person I was with was so adamant that it would work, but now that I'm looking at the costume I'm thinking, no way. Plus, the store is only two miles away, so I'm just going to dash out and grab what I originally had planned to get.
I keep pulling out boxes of stuff, hoping against hope that I will find something else to add to it or modify it with. This sort of thing is a race against time as well as a complete testing of my creativity; at this point I think I'm 50/50 fail/win. I've spent so much and I can only hope that someone at Prophecy will like it, at the very least.
I'm just not ready for Prophecy! I'm still in the shell-shocked phase, you see. New canon has sunk in, mostly, but I'm at a loss as to what to do with it; I feel...finished, somehow, like there's nothing left to write.
On the other hand, it's further fueled my desire to write tLS. I really want to envelope myself in the tLS cocoon and sing la la la.

Date: 2007-07-25 07:06 pm (UTC)Remember: All fanfic stories ARE canon - in an alternate universe. Fanfic stories are written because people want answers to the question 'What if...'. That fact hasn't changed with the publication of DH.

Date: 2007-07-25 11:33 pm (UTC)And are you going to Prophecy? w00t!! That would be awesome!
It's always inspiring to talk to like-minded people. I'm really looking forward to this con; I think it will be one of the best, overall. Everyone will be on a high from the new book, and from here on it can only go down from here as far as participation, so I kind of have this feeling that this will be the big party, so to speak.

Date: 2007-07-25 08:20 pm (UTC)Time will probably help. It sounds like, right now, you have so much on your mind it's hard to take DH in and think about what could be done with it. *hugs* Hopefully the general excitement at Prophecy will give you plenty of bunnies. 8D
