The long and short of it.

Last night at home before I leave. (Will post leaving post tomorrow.) Kid has been fun, but I'm tired out, ha!

Show was horrible horrible horrible. I totally lost money, which hasn't happened in a very long time. It cost me at least $70 to do the show when all was said and done. I am pretty miserable about that.

However, I have received a fantastic email from josanpq, and nothing could make me happier.

Except the very sad feeling that I am really wanting to make something, very badly--that I really want a string of days to call absolutely my own, and that won't be happening for some time.

Tomorrow (Aug 13th) I leave for WI.
Aug 14th-19th--work in WI.
Aug 20th--I leave WI for Las Vegas, with a stop in OK on the way.
Aug 23-25th--Las Vegas show. (and hanging out with subrosax, hooray!)
Aug 26th--drive to Santa Fe.
Aug 27th (my birthday, weirdly enough)--show in Santa Fe.
Aug 28th-30th--drive to WI.
Aug 31st-Sep 3rd--Door County.
Sep 4th-7th--more work in WI.
Sep 8th--HOME.

See what I mean? Another month gone. I dearly wish I could write while on the road, but that never seems to work out.

I hear you on the cry out for your own time! It's so hard not to have it, and to see only a long way to go until you might have a few free days. I hate that perspective that we sometimes just hunt down a whole month or more instead of cherishing it, simply because it's so packed that there is nothing left to cherish. And then, when we finally come to a rest, we are too knackered to lift a finger.

I'm very much hoping that we finish up our work in WI over this week, because then I might be home a little sooner. That would be lovely--a few days to call my own.
