Random thoughts and little meme
Dec. 21st, 2004 08:50 pmNearly have finished shopping.
Saw a sign on a piece of electronic equipment in a store that read: "Required Optional Docking Port". Yes, it's required to be optional. I guess I just have to deal with it.
Must go to bed.

1. A character you really, really love
2. A character you like
3. A character you could give or take
4. A character you don't really care for
5. A character you'd like to spork.
1. Severus...was there any doubt?
2. Lucius, Remus...I am starting to become extremely interested in Peter and his motivations, etc., as well. He seems to be complex in the way that Snape is complex, though we haven't seen enough of it yet.
3. Sirius, the Trio, most of the kids, Fudge, Percy, Voldemort, most of the teachers
4. Dumbledore
5. Molly Weasley and Hagrid
And hello to the Friendly Australian Cab Driver Mike!

Re: So don't feel like working today...
Date: 2004-12-22 07:20 pm (UTC)I've not seen too many fandom stories that do Lily justice, actually. There was a really sweet story about Lily being a Beatles fan, I forget who wrote it, but it was really sweet and sad. Other than that they either make her wangsty or give her a cell phone. (shudder)
I picked her mostly because she died to save Harry. I mean, most mothers would, really, and to me she's sort of the archtypical mother, sacrificing herself so her child could live. And from the glimpse we get of her in OOP, she seems to be a very strong character - I imagine her to be 'popular' but not one of the 'queen bee' types, very unselfconscious of being popular, hence her not being afraid of telling James, the Quiddich star, off, defending Snape even when he's a jerk, but defending herself when he calls her names.
Or maybe it's just the mother thing. My son was born the year the first book came out, so maybe I over identified with the mother figure! :)
I also really like Neville. He's my other favorite.
