Of course, it's related to eBay/Turbo Lister. I've spent two days preparing listings for video games and video game systems (taking multiple photos, working out all of the accessories/plugs for each system, etc.), and I went to upload them earlier today, and they're coming up with some sort of API error based on pictures. 35 out of 40 listings have this error.

The error-listings are listings with prefilled information where I selected not to use eBay's readymade photos; I clicked the option against it, and slowly but surely each listing became weirder and weirder. Most of them now have the same photo because I can't switch or delete anything. I can add photos, but it usually ends up being the same photo as before. I can't even go in and delete all of the photos. I gave up and finished the listings anyway, because I figured I'd just go in and manually switch them all to the same photo after they were uploaded.

Unfortunately, the API error occurs instead. Even weirder--it seems to be related to "PictureURL[2]," which makes me scream because a) none of the listings have a second photo, and b) I wasn't using URLs for any of them--it's all straight from the hard drive.

So I either redo it all, WITHOUT prefilled information (let me think--NO), or I try to mess with it and get it to work, or I just hope that a miracle happens.

Screw this. I'm going to play more Battle for Middle Earth. Have I mentioned how very much I hate Turbo Lister?

ETA: I had to go through each listing, change the little bastards to "URL image hosting," then change it back to "eBay picture hosting" in order to wipe out what must have been "phantom" pics. And then reinsert the pics. Multiple editing wouldn't work, of course. *grumbles and growls*

ETA ETA: All done. That took way too long. And now I'll get stupid questions all week. Questions like, "Is the Intellivision a new system?!! Where can I buy games for it?" and "What's a Dreamcast?" (only misspelled, of course.) Ugh. I'm not looking forward to this. Don't even get me started on how to explain what the hell a Turbografx is.

I loved my Intellivision! We had the voice adaptor plug-in and a couple of games that would talk. It sounded like Stephen Hawking with a slight southern accent. *sigh* Good times!

Sorry to hear about your listing trouble. I'm glad that I choose to host my own images. I was listing stuff on eBay the past four days and I had to endure a few days of wading through eBay's "test layout" for item searches (I search for items to see what categories people list things under) until I finally checked the discussion forums and figured out that I could "opt out" of the layout testing. Sooooo annoying!

Did you ever sort out that problem with the Buyer who claimed to have gotten an empty package?

While visiting the discussion forums, I ran across a doozy of a Seller/Buyer battle involving a sealed Wii that supposedly had a used, broken Wii inside the box when the Buyer opened it. The Seller, Buyer and Buyer's hubby are all posting on this one thread, slinging accusations back and forth!

Sorry to hear that Ebay sucks!! I can't even figure out how to buy things on there most of the time so I am in awe of your abilities, even (well especially) in times of struggle!

Boy, I never thought that I'd be at the mercy of eBay's "improvements," y'know? I had no idea that eBay would be so important in my life. Crazy!

Yeah, it was (of course) in the package, and she hadn't checked it thoroughly. In her defense, it was small and clear...

Oh wow! That does sound like a crazy battle--I mean, who is telling the truth? What a mess!!

I was reading a thread where someone asked for help (I was in the Turbo Lister forums, trying to figure stuff out), and someone else responded with a nasty comment, and just wouldn't stop! It was totally uncalled for, which makes me think that they flamed each other somewhere else beforehand.

I'm hoping that I don't end up in a crazy war because of any of these video games or systems--video game buyers are totally different than my normal set of customers. I sold a couple of batches of video games last year and had no trouble from the buyers, but this year I'm doing systems, which makes me nervous.

And by "abilities," you mean "wild guesses," right? lol!!

I'm just excited that I finally have it all listed...four hours too late.
