A day of very little brain.
Jan. 1st, 2005 11:53 pmNearly ready for sleep...just thinking about today's accomplishments.
I wrote up a fun little LJ entry that I will save for a few days from now, when people are back from the holidays, because I so hope it will be fun and I want people to play along. It's about creativity and the creation of art and I hope lots of the flist will participate.
I also completely overhauled a LJ entry I started a few weeks ago called Common Mistakes Beginning Fanfiction Writers Make. It is absolutely huge now, and I will be waiting to post this one as well, because it needs polish. Someone very kind (thank you,
mortifyd) is taking a glance at it for me, and I'm really hoping that I haven't wasted a tremendous amount of time and energy with it...I hope it's of use to someone out there. I think I'll send a notice to
daily_snitch when I finally do upload it. Only thing is, I'm a little worried that it's too long to be a single entry. Yeah, it's that big. Wow, I just checked it, and it's at 6,500 words. Whew.
But chapter 60? I am still stuck. Worse than ever, though I finally made headway and have added six sentences. I don't think I've ever been this badly stuck. I just keep coming up with ideas and rejecting them. I've gotten way too picky all of a sudden, when I need to just write.
I chatted with the witty
mortifyd about Teh Pudge...anyone interested in the rather silly (and nearly endless) chat we had about poor Alan Rickman's pudge should check out his entries here and here. I must take delight in the fact that I actually wore out Mort and the topic of Pudge, which, before today, I would have thought impossible.
There was also brief chatting to be had with the lovely
ginarsnape...so the day was entertaining, really, if nearly completely unproductive. What a way to begin the new year.
Oh, and I watched Shrek 2. Do children even understand this movie? I was hard-pressed to hear Puss-in-boot's dialogue (though I have to say he had some of the funniest lines in the movie, and I enjoyed his screentime the most), and I can't imagine that most kids would get half the jokes. It was fun, I suppose, but I guess I liked the first one better. And Mike Myer's accent was not as broad as in Shrek. I just...well, it was still enjoyable, but I have a large stack of DVDs from the holidays that I really would rather have watched instead. At least now I know where the giant-eyed cat icon that
junediamanti was sporting for so long came from.
