I forgot to write my about-to-step-on-the-roller-coaster entry, so here is my already-on-the-roller-coaster entry.

July and August will be equal parts buckets of stress and buckets of fun. So far on the docket:

*One of my WI friends' sons is with me this week for fun and frolic in MI (fun! stress!)
*Two craft shows; one in my parents' teeny town in northern MI (fun! stress!), one nearby (stress!)
*Two teeny shows with my merchandise (stress!)
*One show with my friends from WI, which will be about eight days of work (fun! stress!)
*Rock concert I probably should not be going to because I have too much on my plate
*Terminus, with awesome sauce, but also with stress fries, because I am presenting a paper with [livejournal.com profile] gmonkey42 on Sunday (fun! stress!)

Thank goodness I'm going to Cape Cod at the end of August for the honeymoon. I have a feeling I will need it terribly by that point.

Yes, you should be going to the rock concert because with all that stress you need something to award you with. Just my opinion. I hope you have little stress and lots of fun doing all this (including the honeymoon *g*)

I am going crazy just thinking about everything. When I get into September, I'll be so happy that it's all over--but so sad that it's all over.

ahahaha!! I had wondered!

We'll be at the southern end, unfortunately. I've already forgotten the name of the town, eee! I tried getting something close to P-town, but that didn't work out; we're staying in a timeshare and we have to go with what's available, waaah!

[livejournal.com profile] gmonkey42 and I are presenting Snape’s Mary Sues: A Visual Field Guide for Identifying and Understanding Mary Sues Paired with Snape () on Sunday at 3pm. eee! I'm so excited--but I'm terrified, too!!

Mary Sue is a well-known phenomenon affecting the portrayal of Original Fictional Characters in fanfiction. Also known as author self-insertion, and often considered a rite of passage for a writer, Mary Sue is a method of wish-fulfillment, one that allows the writer to experience the story through the creation and insertion of their own avatar. The character of Severus Snape is often the object of Mary Sue’s affection, and we will discuss the appearances and incarnations of Mary Sues who are most often paired with him, with accompanying visuals.

Sounds great! I might actually get to go to that one! I'm especially curious about the "visuals."

I know, I'm excited and yet soooo nervous about all the things I'm doing at Terminus!

But it will be soooo fun!

I'm on the roller coaster, too. a different one, probably a bit more fun, but also with some OMG stress, which had me crying last night. I'm better now.

*hugs* Thank you! I was just freaking out because we've got very little time to get ready for some major trips, which require a lot of Stuff, [both packing/finding, and buying], and was also worried that some procrastination on my part may have cost us dearly in terms of some b'man stuff. I think some residual hormones may have been in effect, too, and less-than-usual sleep.
But my babe comforted me, and after all, I don't do my best work on deadline, I do my only work on deadline. :P

He'll be with me at Terminus. :D
*HUGS*!

PS -- anything especially worth seeing in, say, Milwaukee or Madison? I'm thinking about breaking up our trip from Mpls-Chicago. :P

Milwaukee has a very good art institute (http://www.tfaoi.com/aa/2aa/2aa178.htm), and also has the Third Ward (http://www.historicthirdward.org/), which is a downtown section chock full of nice places to eat and shop.

I've only been to Madison once, and know very little, except that you must visit the House on the Rock, (http://www.thehouseontherock.com/) which is supposed to be absolutely insane and amazing. And Monty's Blue Plate Diner (http://www.foodfightinc.com/montys.htm) is fantastic.

Cool, thank you!!!

I checked the greyhound schedules and decided that Milwaukee is too far from mpls. Besides, we're pretty hippie'ish / liberal, so Madison is totally a good fit for us! :D

The house on the rock does look really cool and wacky! :P

Ta!
