  • I know I keep saying best summary ever, but this really has got to be in at least the top ten: Summary: A cross over with Superman The Movie. The A-Team arrive at earth from Krypton to combat evil.

  • Hannibal grinned, but his eyes were ice. Murdock and BA's matched.

  • As always, the warnings crack me up. Warning: One bad word. That's all. And one very, very big dog in the end.

  • Face groaned. "What'd I do?" "You pulled out your IV and accidentally stabbed yourself with the knife a few dozen times ..."

  • This is someone screaming for B.A.: "BA!! BA!!"

  • Face could barley catch his breath when Nick approached him and kicked him in his broken ribs.

  • I love it when a plot comes together!

  • And I've just found a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover. Sample excerpt: [The turtles] were going across the road when suddenly a black van stopped dead in front of them. The A-Team van. Face got out and looked at The Turtles. Then Hannibal got out and stood by Face. "Who are you?" He asked. As The Turtles and The A-Team introduced themselves, Lynch and Shredder, who had secretly joined forces chased them. They all got in the van and BA started to drive. Finally, they outdrove them. The Turtles got out. This is about a tenth of the fic, btw. In fact, I think it might be the entire ending.

  • There is an author on the archive whose handle is Live Lady Roadkill.

  • Warning: Slash H/F, Language and death of a classic motorcycle.

  • There is one fic with the warning mention of alcohol.

  • The fic I'm reading right now is in the top percentile for h in h/c. Face has been brutally abused as a child in his past, and...ethically abused? I'm not even certain how to phrase it. Anyway, an adoptive parent inflicted beatings, non-con, and addicted him to heroin. Rented him out to friends. And then forced him to rob and lie and stuff. Also, he took lots of pictures of all of it. Fast forward to the future, and now he's readdicted Face to heroin, whipped him front and back, branded him with his initial, shot him in the stomach, non-con every five minutes, and also now Face has low blood sugar so he keeps crashing and going into comas and having seizures. He's had one concussion. Plus Face has stopped breathing or his heart has stopped at least ten times so far. At one point his heroin supply was "tainted" with mind-control drugs. The entire team was actually given mind-control drugs as well so they'd think Face was a traitor, and then they beat him as well at one point. Eventually Face mentions that there was a woman who was his adoptive father's girlfriend and who was a total sweetheart, and he ended up being forced to maim and kill her. What else...also his wrists were tied with wire, and then later he cut himself, and...you know what, I've forgotten some of the other stuff, but trust me, this is not the complete list. It's gotten a little out of hand, lol. Anyway, I'm still reading it, but it's the kind of reading where I'm interested in the c, but the h is so over the top that I'm partially tuned out, y'know? ETA: Wow--a tree branch just fell on him. Even Nature wants a part of the h/c action! ETAETA: And now he's been shot three times. And one bullet was resting against his heart. And they had to crack open his ribs to get to it. When did the A*Team get lessons in open-heart surgery? ETAETAETA: Aaaaaaand another pummeling-fest from the other A*Team members. Even BA gets involved. Poor Face.

  • Summary: Santa Claus has been kidnapped and the A-Team is called out. Warning: It's safe, maybe on the borderline of silly.

  • Dukes of Hazzard crossover.

  • Um. There's a cookbook. I'm almost tempted to check it out. Fine, I'll investigate for the greater good. Let's see...As most A-Team fans know, food was a factor in most of the A-Team episodes. Various and assorted food fights at the VA Virtual Asylum gave me the idea of putting together this cook book. Food fights? Oh, wait, I see now. This is actually a parody of a cookbook. It's funny, too.
    Table of Contents
    1) Introduction
    2) Col. Smith's Meal planning planner
    3) Lt. Peck's Table settings
    4) Cap't Murdocks Recipes from nuts to condiments
    5) Sgt. Baracus's Dairy delights
    6) Camping Cuisine
    7) Urban Hideout Dining.

And here's a bit from Smith's section: This plan looks like it is coming together nicely. Just make sure that your guests come in through the front door and go to the buffet table in a flanking pincer movement. I love it when a party plan comes together.

The cookbook is pretty funny.

I think I only have enough fics left for one more summary entry, wah! I was beginning to enjoy this.

As I read the description of that crazy h/c fic, I started to think, "This sounds like every old-school, pre-HBP, "poor little Severus raised by his horribly abusive father at Snape Manor before being whored out to the Dark Lord, who mistreats him in turn!" fic.

And then I got to the part about Face's low blood sugar, and cracked up. That struck me as the funniest part of the whole thing until: Wow--a tree branch just fell on him. Even Nature wants a part of the h/c action! ROFL.

YES!! I am totally contemplating an essay about this. For realz--there are the most astonishing parallels between one of the big epic h/c sagas about Face, and Severus. Seriously. It's pretty amazing. I keep reading further and thinking, but this! is so familiar!!

And when the tree branch fell, I nearly fell off my chair laughing. Srsly.

There was way, way more, but I just couldn't subject everyone to it, y'know? 44 chapters of total h. And a little c. And just like the Severus sagas, logic was totally suspended at many different points.

You know I wanted more of this!
They had to warn us because a Harley buys it?
I like the sounds of the cookbook.
Not only does that tree fall on Face, but the squirrels start throwing acorns at him...
BTW, there are some graveyard pix in my most recent entry, mixed in with all the Tolkien stuff and pictures of cows. Thought you might like. :)

Apparently it's very shocking! Also, we get warnings for "mostly harmless" and "a very big dog," so it all makes sense.

I like the sounds of the cookbook.

It really is rather adorable, honestly. Even my jaded, cynical little brain has to admit it.

And the cemetery pics are just lovely! I did see them, thank you so much for sharing! *hugs*

PS: Do you live near Columbus? I can't remember. I'll be in Columbus later on this month.

I live in the mistake on the Lake Cleveland; however, I could meet you in Columbus or Toledo. Have you ever been to Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland? Amazing. I want to be buried there someday. I am busy the weekend of the 18th/19th, but the next two weekends are open.
I am so going to miss the A-Team; maybe you could find some other arcane fandom to riff? Since I have been writing Hornblower fic, I checked out how many stories there were for that fandom on ff.net. A grand total of 400; this is compared to the 40,000 fics for LOTR.

I would love that! I will be in the Columbus area for a show on the 26th, so if you're free the evening before, maybe we could do something fun. Or, if we could meet somewhere that is on my way to Columbus but easier for you to get to, that would be awesome as well!

Have you ever been to Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland?

I believe that I have driven past it and drooled, oh yes! I really want to go and explore some day.

I am so going to miss the A-Team; maybe you could find some other arcane fandom to riff?

I am mourning the fact that I've explored other fandoms and not profiled the gems I've found there! ha!

Maybe Airwolf will be next. Or Miami Vice. Something where I'm interested enough to check it out and slog through the summaries.

Or I could go back to the Emergency! fanfic archive...hee!

Will you be driving from MI to Columbus? What route are you taking? If you will be driving through Toledo, we could rendezvous there.

Oh yeah, I will totally be driving from MI. Toledo could be a very good spot to meet up--but I hope you know where we could meet there, because I'm at a loss. :)
