We're all growed up

valis2I have a garage door opener in my car that actually opens my very own garage door. *blinks*
Will be off and on this weekend. More off than on. Sister and co. are coming over tomorrow, along with Husband's best friend, and we are renting a truck, and we will be emptying the hobbit hole apartment and taking the furniture to our new house. I can hardly believe it's happened. Is happening. wow.
Only worry is--the internet. I'm having a hellish time figuring out what the hell to do. The grandma left her satellite connection still active, but I think she's taken the hardware. I mean, the dish is there, the service is on, but the little tower that was there is gone. lol. I mean, it looked like a DSL piece of hardware to me, but it could have been the satellite hookup, for all I know. I don't know what a satellite hookup looks like. What I do know is that there is nothing there at all now, except for cables from the wall.
Anyway, I've called Comcast to see about getting a cable hookup, and they told me that the address is labeled as unserviceable. There was service in 2001, and then it was disconnected and unserviceable. This is such a mystery. Especially since the grandma told me she'd never had cable. Anyway, they're looking into it now. But they won't let me know until Monday.
I plan on living at the new place as of tomorrow--but how will I live without my computer? Y'know, each day I get closer to that Kate Bush song about the person who gets so absorbed in their computer they forget to eat and stuff. Only I'd never forget to eat. Not when you can order pizza online.

Date: 2008-12-13 01:39 pm (UTC)I'll definitely use the satellite service if the cable thing falls through--I just want to know now!! And I wish I could take the computer over today--but because I don't have anything to hook it to for the satellite connection, I wouldn't have the internet. *sighs*
