[livejournal.com profile] quirkyhpshorts is now a comm. It's open now. I'm not going to announce it on [livejournal.com profile] daily_snitch or any of the other journals yet because I sometimes think that new communities need to have at least a handful of members or people won't join, so I want to wait and work on it a little and then announce it in March.

If anyone can think of anywhere else I can announce its creation---mailing lists that welcome such a thing, LJ communities---I'd be glad to hear the suggestions.

I am tremendously geeked. Finally, a place where squid poetry can flourish.

Great! I'm so glad you got it up and running! And the icon is wonderful... Not sure I'll have any writing to contribute but I'll definitely check it out.

The icon is a testament to my horrid drawing skills. It was frustrating but I think I ended up with the "kindergarten" look that I wanted, which is probably above my actual drawing skills. ;)

If you feel inspired, go ahead and throw down, girl.

I've just coincidentally been reading a poem posted by junediamanti in her LJ (have not worked out how to do the clever linking thing!!) Possibly a candidate for your new community?? I thought it was great!

June is on my flist, I'm certain she'll add the community and throw down if she wants to. :) I hope she does. She's a talented writer.

I assume this is for the super-sekrit Giant Worship thing for tomorrow? Will write a poem or two if I get in the proper frame of mind. :)

Yes, at the grocery store I was composing lovely little Rickman free verses...can't wait to have a go at it.

Squid poetry! That's a new thing for me so I have to check out the comm.

That Snape icon of yours is hysterical. The hat! And the flower! *dissolves into giggles*

The comm is not even twelve hours old yet, and I love it to death, and I can't wait to write more. I'll be leaving Friday, though, so I don't want to go overboard on the promotion just yet.

You know you want to write squid poetry---let it swim free!

So glad you liked the icon...I swore quite a bit as I was making it...I am the absolutely worst when it comes to any sort of drawing. I ended up blowing it up to a huge size and making tiny pixel corrections and it still looked like a five-year-old drew it. Well, that was what I was hoping for, so I guess I succeeded!

Ah, a home for Great Art!

Yes, you have lured me in. How could I resist squid poetry! Now how does one go about the technicalities of joining the community? I have this unasuageable yearning for a multi-authored epic poem in the sacred form of limericks: "Hermione and the Giant Squid".

You really shouldn't tempt weak & elderly folk like me into this sort of thing, you know. I am so susceptible.

Ha-ha! My clever plan worked!

To join you would click on the little comm icon to the left of the name below:

[livejournal.com profile] quirkyhpshorts

Then you would click where it says "join this community" at the top of the page. If you would also like to friend the community, keep the "friend this community" checkbox checked.

And then I expect to see some lovely squid verse stat! ;)
