Valis update
Mar. 13th, 2009 10:28 amYesterday morning I woke up feeling lovely. I had a dream about Starsky & Hutch. I dreamt I was at Hutch's apartment and he was totally into me. Then I got a haircut, and I knew we were going to date, and I was totally geeked. The lovely feeling lasted all morning. Seriously. Subconscious, what are you telling me?
I'm at 5200 words on the Riptide fic. It is both better, and worse, than hoped for, as it always is. I think I can fix the worse a little. In fact, I know from personal experience that the worse is kind of imaginary--it's invisible to most who read it, because it exists mostly in my head. See, my head knows the real story, and can compare the two.
I think I'll be able to post it on Sunday. Maybe. If the writing gods continue their help, at least.
Also, I feel really really pretentious because my notes are longer than the fic. And I have quoted lyrics in the beginning. I almost never quote lyrics. I'm so afraid that this is going to be off-putting. Vanity, thy name is Valis.
Seriously. I'm starting to worry that people are going to look at the header and just roll their eyes and skip right over it. heh.

Date: 2009-03-13 02:47 pm (UTC)I'm sure you worry just as much and you put just as much effort into it. Hell, I haven't even gotten any of the Riptide stories beta'd, so you're already ahead of me there!
Hang in there, hon. You'll get it done. In my experience, trying to get a story down on paper never really does end up as good as it was in ones head, but it's still great how close you can get!
Yeah, they never turn out quite as imagined. Sometimes they're better, sometimes worse, but they always develop differently...you're totally right!
