I'm not a Trek fan, but it was enjoyable.

In the bathroom afterward, the woman next to me informed me that Leonard Nimoy is her husband.

Herr Tanzer is a hardcore Trekker. We're seeing this for our anniversary this week. I'm seriously hoping for a skinny geek character to make it worth my while. Was Spock hot? ;)

Spock was very nice indeed. But honestly, I didn't really get excited by anybody. Though Kirk has lovely eyes.

However, everyone I know who likes Trek really liked this movie, so you're probably in for a treat!

And--new icon? Mmm. Nick.

Yes, I call this one Nick of the living dead. When I first captured it I was going to let it go as not pretty enough, but sometimes you want that zombie look. :)

AHAHAHA win.

Also, it's enjoyable, then? Good to know! I'm getting taken to it this afternoon, but I've never watched the show or cared much about sci-fi. If it's full of in-jokes and plots I'll never understand, I better get a large popcorn to keep me happy. :D

Yeah, I'm certain there are in-jokes that I missed, being as I'm really not engaged at all by Trek and I've watched very little of it.

I would give it a solid B. Maybe almost a B+. It was interesting enough, but you could see that they were really trying to satisfy the fans. They gave each main character a bit of screentime, and for me, it felt like they were trying to fit all of the fan faves in. Still, I did like it, and there were a few good lines and such.

However, I wasn't interested in the characters very much, nor did I have that *RAWR* moment with anybody. Except maybe Karl Urban.

Overall, I have to say that I wouldn't see it again. Still, it was a pleasant way to pass a couple hours! Great special effects, btw.

hahaha!

I was so surprised, too. I mean, nobody was in costume, it was an older crowd, and there was no overt geekery happening that I could see, honestly.

I'm still amused. ;)

bwahahha! No, I didn't, unfortunately. But, being a large woman herself, I think she's probably quite approving of it. lol!
