The guy showed up late, but he showed up. I was really hoping for at least $100, but he offered $50 (which I had predicted), so we met at $75. I think I might have been able to talk him higher, but honestly, since he was doing all of the work, I just didn't want to push it.

Anyway, he brought a trailer and his Jeep Cherokee. Not enough room, so he called his wife, who brought her SUV, and they both packed it in, but he still had to come back for another packed-in trip. And he left the giant entertainment center and a couple paintings, and he's supposed to be here again today to pick those up. I don't know if he'll show or not, but the center is huge and heavy, and I'm not certain what we'll do with it if he doesn't.

Garage before

Garage after

So you can see--I still have a bit of work to do, and some rearranging, and hopefully the guy'll pick up the entertainment center, too. *crosses fingers* You can see it on the right-hand side. The white table is from the sun porch, so that will be gone, as well as the folding tables, which are my show tables. And I'm going to clean off the plastic shelving units and put them against one end.

I can't wait. Seriously. I felt like I was being psychologically crushed by all the stuff. And the basement is partially clear, now, too! So I'm really excited.

Have a great weekend, y'all! I'll be back on Tuesday. I'm going up north to do a teeny craft show in my parents' teeny town. Should be fun.

What a pretty garage!

Yep, pretty empty! (Had to say it, lol.)

I can't wait. I feel like this house has potential, and it's just all been crushed under 2439875623984 boxes. Now that I've gotten rid of a ton of it, I feel so much happier.

In fact, I went downstairs and pulled up some more stuff for the guy. He hasn't called yet, which makes me nervous, but hopefully at some point I'll get ahold of him and it'll all work out.

And I second the yay! I'm so geeked. I'm going to use that wood set of shelves for Experimentation. eee! I have some new techniques that require ventilation, and I'm eager to try this out.

Wow!

I know exactly what you mean about feeling psychologically crushed by too much stuff. Sometimes the best spirit lifter is getting rid of THINGS and making space!

So, yay.

YES. WORD. EXACTLY. I feel a hundred times lighter!! The basement is partially clear and I can start really working on stuff that I've been neglecting. squee!!

Plus, I can experiment in the garage now! *jumps around in excitement*

DUDE. I am so geeked! And once I get the rest of the tables moved around--HOLY COW.

My sun porch is full of the stuff that's usually in the garage, so I just went in there today and found more stuff that I meant to give to the guy! So it's good that he's late. He's getting even more things. Plus, it turns out that a bunch of stuff in the sun porch is actually trash! Broken-down cardboard boxes, recycling, and returnables! I'm so excited to get rid of it all. Honestly, I think we'll both be able to park in it!!

Yay! I get the psychological aspect of it. My mom is going to have to restrain me from trying to go through her closets and throw stuff away. I cannot stand to have junk sitting around not being used and taking up space...and it's not even my house!

Oh yeah, it's to the point where I'm just grabbing things and wanting to get rid of EVERYTHING. hahaha! I'm even questioning things I've had forever. Pretty crazy.

I am so excited, I just can't even begin to describe. The garage is like an empty slate!

God gawd. I am so jealous of that garage. You should see our present pit: Three cement mixers (for copper cleaning and polishing), a freezer and more piles of junk than you can shake a stick at.

Oh, wow. That sounds like a lot of stuff.

The best part about all of this? We've been storing all of our regular garage stuff in the sun porch, and I just went and looked, and some of it is stuff we can give to the guy--and a lot of it is actually trash! Like, boxes of broken-down boxes. Bags of recycling (we had an issue with the trash service, and it really piled up). I'm so excited, because even when we get it all back in there, it won't be that bad. squee!!

J would just kill for all those shelves. When we left Michigan we left two huge work benches and a storage unit in the garage because there's not room here. It's hard to organize without all that glorious space! You will LOVE having so much room.

I'm totally geeked. I'll have room for all of my show stuff, my tent, my weights--everything! I won't have to lug it all in and out of the house! squee!!

Plus, to have a set of gardening shelves? Priceless. *nodnod*

Just looking at the garage everyday made me want to scream. I had boxes piled up one of the doors, and it made it even darker and sadder inside. Those crazy plastic trees were everywhere and there were so many dirty rusted metal racks full of crappy holiday decorations...omg. I am so happy that it's all (nearly) gone. I mean, there's only a little bit left, so it isn't too bad, but holy cow. This is a giant step forward! Whee!!

I can't wait to finally clean it all up. I'll have one more after-after photo...hopefully soon!
