My parents are coming over tonight and they're staying through Monday morning. At which time Husband's mom will stop by and stay with us Monday night.

Which means that I must clean. blergle. I hate cleaning. I only clean when people come to visit, so my favorite part of the visit (besides the visit) is after they leave and I realize I can haz clean house for a little while. hee!

I mean, it's not like I live in a house full of trash and I have to walk through a trail in my living room. I keep the clutter to one or two rooms, and then the rest of the place is pretty much uncluttered. Just dusty.

The thing I'm sad about most is that it puts off writing yet again. grr! I am trying to reread the whole thing before I start writing again. I've managed to read two-thirds of it at this point, and I've revised a few words and bits and bobs, mostly teeny things that kind of bugged me a little every time I read them. But still, I'm so eager to write more, now that I have the outline nearly finished.

Also, we ate a tomato two nights ago! One from our tomato plants! It was a little mealy, unfortunately, but it was tasty. The tomatoes are developing well, but the plants continue to look burned and sad. Pale. Curled leaves. I really burned the hell out of them. Or maybe there is a fungus bothering them...hmm.

Like M would ever notice dust (or mention it anyway). She showed up at my house and brought gin and tonic and fresh limes. Let the party begin and damn be the dust!

Though that thought did spark in interesting conversation that we had while she was here. I've never been in her house, any of them. She always visits us, or meets us in restaurants, or in the case of the Portland and Santa Fe trips, meets us in another city for a shared vacation. I have no idea what her decorating style is, or if she is a neat freak, or collects cat knicknacks, or sorts her pantry alphabetically, or if she hangs anyhting on the walls, or even if she has nothing but condiments in her fridge. I don't even know if she can cook beyond frozen items. How bizarro is that? Twelve years of dating L and I've never seen his mother's house nor eaten anything she's made. Have you?

Also, YAY for homegrown tomatoes! My friend is hosting a shared tomato garden - we've had Early Girls, Cherokee Purples (OMG YUM!), and Sungold (cherry) tomatoes... and we have some Green Zebras but I'm not sure how to tell if they are ripe? LOL

Haha, I am exactly the same way. My cat gets worried when I clean because she knows that means something's up.

Yes, it was very tasty! Let's hope the rest actually manage to ripen. *crosses fingers*

*snorts*

Well, that makes it easier, I suppose. Though I have to dust my second computer desk--my dad will want to set up there, and I don't want to have clouds of dust bunnies springing up when he sits down there. lol!!

Well, I've seen the condo she used to live in--and let me tell you, "spare" and "birds" are the only two adjectives that can apply to her living space. Almost no decorating is involved. And she made dinner for us there a few times, and it was very nice--once she cooked a duck. Yum!

But you're right, it is bizarro! I hadn't realized that.

I adore the Cherokee Purples! I'm totally jealous.

And LOL about the green zebras. ;) Ours are a long way from being close--the plant only has two on it, and they're about the size of quarters. The Brandewynes are popping out a lot more, though I'm not certain how many we'll get in the end. A couple are HUGE though!

And I'm still enjoying the clean house. squee!
