The Wisdom of Tommy Blue

Was watching one of my favorite movies today...The Black Swan with Tyrone Power. It's a pirate movie, filled with lots of double-crossing, adventure, and a half nekkid, tanned and utterly delicious Tyrone as Jamie Waring.

Over the years as I've watched this particular movie I've become rather fond of Jamie's Irish first mate, Tommy Blue, who is highly entertaining, and prefers ladies of substance, shall we say, which is immediately endearing. I thought I'd share a few of his lovely bits of wisdom...

Tommy Blue's Wisdom

Tommy Blue: "It's better than none!"

"I've never seen you like this, Jamie, hanging yer head like a pelican over a wench. And, if you ask me, a flouncy wench, with no more feeling than a load of clams. If you kick her in the heart, you'll break your leg."

Jamie Waring: "Church bells."
Tommy Blue: "Aye. Some people likes to hear them; I like trumpets better."

"By land or sea you can always rely on Tom Blue for wrongdoing of any nature."

Tommy Blue: "We can't fight and we can't run. Nothing left to do but to disappear, which ain't practical."
Jamie Waring: "...we're going to join Leach."
Tommy Blue: "You can't fool Leach with a baby trick like that, Jamie!"
