LJ still seems very quiet to me. People must be on spring break or something.

The Giant Entry about Fanfiction Mistakes was a nice fandom milestone for me. I feel like I really accomplished something. It was mentioned in the HP newsletters [livejournal.com profile] quickquotes and [livejournal.com profile] daily_snitch, a LotR newsletter called [livejournal.com profile] four_lobsters, a new generic fanfiction community called [livejournal.com profile] teaching_fandom, and another writing community called [livejournal.com profile] shy_writers in the LJ world. I uploaded a link to The Potions Master's Muse, which is a SS/OFC Yahoo mailing list, and it may end up on Sycophant Hex as an essay.

I would be so honored if it turned up on SH. That would be wonderful.

I'm still sad about the way I ended up having to structure it. As is reads now, the first half is boring, and the second half is much more interesting. I originally had it the other way around, but it seemed awkward to transition from details to broad points, so I switched it. Now I wonder if some of the readers gave up because it seemed really generic and boring in the beginning. The second half seems a lot more lively to me.

Most people mentioned its positivity, and several people mentioned the POV section as being very helpful. I actually didn't expect that at all, because I thought that the POV section was so sketchy. I mean, there is so much more that can be said about POVs and tenses. But I'm glad that people responded so nicely. I really did enjoy writing it. There were a few additional suggestions that I will fit in later, like songfics (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] pandora_nervosa!).

I don't think it is so much about spring break as the crappy weather and burnout. blah.

It must be something like that, because it really seems like the activity is down. When I was home in January I could barely keep up some days, and I'd have tons of comment e-mails. Right now I'm bored and refreshing the flist, and I'm wondering where everyone is.

LJ burnout...the truth comes out. ;)

I wouldn't say that it is LJ burnout so much as real life burnout and the weather is killing people too. It is so depressing and the nice weather last weekend got all of our hopes up and now it is cold and snowy on and off and just wah. I know that I really wish I got a proper spring break but the 2 schools I teach at have their spring breaks one after another so I don't even get a proper week off. I think it is just that time of year. *shrug* I am sure things will pick up again soon.

"Just wah" is exactly what it feels like. So many people on LJ have lost their jobs, or are facing medical troubles...and the weather is depressing, depending on where you live, I agree.

I need to find something else on the internet to obsess over. heh

lol but isn't that true. It seems like every which way you turn, someone is losing their job or facing a medical crisis or something. Not fun. This year is still better than 2000 but we will see. We are only in month 3. (so knocking wood right now)

Did you watch the blind cop show? CSI last night?

I didn't watch the blind cop show, though I did watch a special about it.

CSI really pissed me off. I thought that the kid plot was horrible, though the dad was an excellent actor and did a great job. I thought that the actor who played the homeless guy was absolutely horrid.

The Baldwin plot was okay, I suppose, but the Baldwin was so bizarre in his underplaying of the role that I was a little freaked out. Especially after having been set up as such a scumbag.

At least Sara and Catherine were wearing "normal" clothes instead of the silly tight tanks they normally wear.

I loved the music, too. There were a couple tracks that were awesome.

WHAT! The homeless guy was Wil Wheaton! I thought he rocked and I found about it being him after the show aired. dude!

Baldwin just kind of creeps me out. He seems to be kind of scuzzy in real life so I suppose this wasn't much of a leap for him.

The kid plot was enh...but doable I guess. I did like how Nick zinged the detective in the end cause the detective deserved it. I don't remember that guy being such a punk.

Wow, and I've even met Wil Wheaton! Weird. Still, I didn't think it was a great performance.

Baldwin was nice and scuzzy, and I thought he'd be all scuzzy in the episode, and then he sounds like some sweet Southern cocaine-dealing guy with lots of politeness heaped on. That was so weird.

I don't remember the detective being such an ass either, but with his comment the week before about the plus-sized women and his mean behavior last night, I'm wondering what the hell is up.
