...where I have taken my first step to Global Domination Through eBay by renting a PO box. Go me.

I also grabbed my mail on the way in. The new TV Guide was there. First thing I do with TV Guide is flip it open to all of the stiff inserts and rip them out enthusiastically so that none are left to distract me from finding a listing.

These inserts are always a motley collection of "Baby Unicorns Collection by Franklin Mint" and "Collectible Wolf Plates".

Today's insert: "The greatest literature of all time...in perfect minature. Just $7.95 each."

Yes, tiny versions of classic books (in the public domain, of course) like Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, featuring "Original classic cover designs", "Rich gold-patterned covers", "Traditional stitched headbands", and "Select ivory-colored book paper". From the illustration it appears that each book is approximately two inches long.

"These great books will captivate your family".

Yes, if your family is six inches tall.

That would be the Borrowers, wouldn't it?

I'll have to admit, I was very tempted to purchase the Rankin/Bass Commemorative Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys Village. Alas, I didn't have the money. But I love me some stop-motion animation!

You are so damned funny.

Hey, news flash in the same issue of TV Guide:

---
Spike Resurrected
A new player has entered the Buffy/Angel TV-movie fray: Spike. With SMG and DB otherwise engaged, WB president David Janollari is now mulling a telepic centered on James Marsters' toothsome alter ego--and the prospect has fans foaming at the mouth. But the exec better act quick: The 42-year-old actor says he's game to resurrect "William the Bloody," provided shooting begins in the next few years. "Past that, I'm too old," marsters says. "Spike's a vampire, man, you have to believe that the guy has not aged since we met him." Eh, that's nothing some good lighting and a little makeup can't fix.

----

Oh, that would be heavenly.

Tell that to Alan Rickman.

"Snape's how old?"

Thank goodness James obviously sees the irony of it, though I wouldn't mind seeing him in that role for a long time...mmm.

David Thewlis looks the age, but Rickman is a bit long in the tooth...though still yummy. And the voice...ah, delicious.

I was going to comment earlier on something you said just because of the icon, but I forgot.

Billie Jean is one of those movies you see years later and just cringe. It was so cool at the time.

I miss you too!!

A little touch of classics in the night.

May you achieve world domination. Be sure to let me know when you do. I've a few odds & ends I'd like fixed up hereabouts.

I'll have to say, I just about had an orgasm when I read that blurb from TV Guide. We all need to start some rabid email campaign to WB president David Janollari...or whatever. James definitely needs more exposure. He is a wonderful actor (and I'm not just saying that because I'd like to fuck him blind). He conveys so much emotion in just his facial expressions. Grief over Buffy's (2nd) death, his love for her, his unfailing courage when she tries to stake him (and can never do it, thank God)...his love for that fruitcake Druscilla...

Someone stop me.

I've got the final season of Angel in my Netflix queue. I need to see it again, but I'll agree...it should have been Spike with his own show and not Angel. *yawns*

You are so right. Angel is just too...boring and broody and low-key. Spike would have been an awesome force, energetic, snarly, delicious, ready to bugger at any moment...oh, sorry, got carried away there.

*giggles*

I thought it was only over here that we got those crappy offers! Loads of them are for children's books, usually box sets (which I admit do look very nice, but cost a fortune, plus you usually have to join some book club and buy things every month), but other times you get really weird ones like tins of foie gras! My mother-in-law ordered some of that once! My husband was not impressed, especially as we've got a friend whose mother makes foie gras. And she has to go and buy tinned stuff from the TV guide!!

I had seen two ages for him...32 and 42...and I believed the 42, after watching him very closely in the last season of Angel.

He is so the yum.

Argh! That reminds me of my grandmother, who buys all this crazy QVC jewelry, when my family has purchased from the same jewelry store for years (it's family owned and they're very nice).

These were really hot about 10-15 years ago. You could find tiny masterpieces in any bookstore. I have a tiny Georgia O'Keefe, and I think I might have a book of poetry (american, female, 19th century, name escapes me). They are really cool if you collect the 16" fashion dolls.
