FIE ON YOU, TURBOLISTER
Jul. 17th, 2010 07:48 pmI use TurboLister to list my stuff for eBay. In TL, I have two users, one for my regular business, one for clothing.
The clothing listings are pretty complicated. I wanted to do a set of clothing auctions while
subrosax was here, but it just didn't happen because they take too much time. I have to take measurements and put together each listing very carefully and there are a lot of values to enter and pictures to coordinate.
So today I spent two hours preparing clothing listings for tonight. I was excited because I finished the listings early, which means I can catch up on other stuff. I needed to switch users briefly so I could list something on Etsy. It asked me if I wanted to backup. Well, yeah, I just did that new work and it's been a few weeks, so yes.
It flashes a message: "There was a problem with the backup." I hit okay (the only option). It asks me which user I'd like to log on as. I click on the clothing user.
IT DISPLAYS NO ITEMS.
There were 200+ listings stored in it, mostly older auctions, which are still useful because I can use them as templates for new auctions. THERE ARE NONE NOW. It wiped everything. It even wiped my organizational folders (skirts, pants, tank tops, etc.).
I restored from an older backup, but of course it doesn't have today's work in it.
And now I don't have enough time to list unless I want to work like a crazy person. I am so disgusted right now. If there is anything I detest in the world, it's having to do the same work twice. It makes me want to smash things.

Date: 2010-07-18 12:02 am (UTC)Seriously, my sympathies. It's awful watching hard work get eaten by computers.

Date: 2010-07-18 12:17 am (UTC)I still have to redo all the work though. All the measuring and typing in all of the information, which takes forever. I don't mind typing in information, but grah, I hate the measuring. :(
Thanks for the sympathy!

Date: 2010-07-18 03:40 am (UTC)But in this case, it literally prompted me to backup, I hit okay, and then the next dialogue box that popped up said, "Yo, there was a problem" and that was all she wrote. :(
