Pleasant Saturday

My parents called and they'll be here around 3:30 or so. Which means I have a leisurely three hours to finish cleaning, and, since Husband and I did most of it yesterday, this means I only have my bathroom to clean, and the bedrooms and hallway to vacuum.

I loathe vacuuming because of the noise, so Husband usually does it, but because he was so sweet and mopped the tile floors and did a bunch of other stuff last night, I told him I'd do the vacuuming today. I also want to double check the lawn bag inventory, because I made an enormous pile of vegetation yesterday (mostly mint I ripped out of the backyard) and now it needs to be stuffed into lawn bags.

If I have time, I think I'd like to take a few more pictures for the website, too.

My hair has been Too Long for awhile now. Last night for no conceivable reason I measured it from the beginning of my ponytail, and it's 24 inches long. Yeah. Um. Time for a haircut.

Boy, this entry is going nowhere fast.

Right now I'm tied to my kitchen store cooking sauce. I'm not getting out till sometime after 5 at the earliest. So I'm downloading some "new to me" tv series to check out while the sauce is cooking...

What sort of mint did you yank out? We have lots of catmint -- I sowed seeds in one spot, and it *migrated* around the yard so that it now grows in four or five places. :-)

Just FYI, so far as I know, you can never get rid of mint entirely, no matter how much you pull out of your gardens. (To me, that's a good thing.)

I'm not certain which kind of mint it is--it has lavender flowers and there was a ton of it, complete with numerous bees.

It's totally an exercise in futility, I know, but it was super out of control, so I had to do something. It was taking over the patio. Very picturesque, but also waaay too much mint. lol!

Ditto... A few years ago, my mother got me a Miele vacuum cleaner for Christmas; my sister (who also has one) had told her how quiet and light they are. They are also expensive, but the company never stops fixing them or making spare parts for their older models.

It has made vacuuming much less loathsome to me ;-)

The noise is just so disturbing. I always feel silly when I say it, so I'm so glad that I have company in this. Because I don't even like to be in the house when there is vacuuming occurring, seriously.

At least it's over now, and hopefully Husband will do the next few rounds. :)

I need a damn haircut, too. It's not long by regular standards, but my bangs are long enough that they have to be shoved off to the side, and they don't stay there very well. I hate having hair in my eyes, therefore, time for a cut.

Also, I love mint. But, uh, yes. It's a weed. Just ask my Dad, who planted one spearmint plant in his backyard several years ago.

He now has no grass. Just spearmint.

My hair is mostly one length, and has been for years. I think I might want to chop a big section off, though. It's waaaay too long. If I leave it down when I go to bed I can actually get completely tangled in it. lol!

And the mint is eyeing the rest of the yard, lol. I definitely need to give it a good talking to.

Y'know, I really think it's time for a big haircut, and if so, then I will definitely donate it. *nodnod* Last couple times, I've had 11" cut off. So this time I think I'll do more and that way it can go somewhere.

Most of the curl is gone...I decided not to get another perm. :( So it's nearly stick-straight now. I really need to get it cut!
