So this is a really unusual set of pics. Seriously, folks, one of these I'll probably never be able to replicate because it involved the sunset. Also, there are pics of a rare heavy fog.

7-16-10 Typical pretty morning mist.

8-17-10 Let me explain why this is such a fluke. I mean, you've never seen sunset pics of the pond before, so I assume that you all suspect it doesn't face west. And you're right. When I take pics out of my window, I am facing northeast (roughly). More north than east, but still. That's why at certain points of the year I can almost catch the sunrise. But this? Wow. This was the result of an incredible sunset with gorgeous clouds. I have a couple other pics of it that I'll share in another entry. Anyway, I might never be able to take another pic like this again. So awesome!

8-19-10 I'm starting to get obsessed with clouds. These were awesome, though the pic doesn't do them justice.

Has the swing always been there? I want to be on that swing right this minute staring at the pond and looking for the first yellow/orange leaves of the season!

hee! Yeah, the swing has been there since before we moved in. And what's crazy is that I've only sat in it once!

Next time you're in the area, though, we'd love to see you--and you can swing to your heart's content! *hugs*

Photographing clouds well is pretty difficult. Back when I used my father's (very) old camera, I had a yellow filter that increased contrast and made for spectacular "cloudscapes". Unfortunately I can't use filters with my digital camera :(.

Maybe we could use filters in Photoshop to bring out the contrast. Hmm...I'll have to experiment!! :)

I really love that storm light: dark clouds and hard yellow light. And the heavy fog. And the sunset. So, all of them really.

It's a pretty good batch! I'm so happy I caught that sunset, though I don't even know if it qualifies as sunset, really, seeing that it's really just the sunset light bouncing off farflung clouds. Still, it was sunset-ish. lol.

hee! It's weird; I just don't like to be outdoors, though I am starting to enjoy it more now. In fact, I'm a little bummed about winter coming, because I won't be able to make any trips down to the edge of the pond to look at frogs. :(

Really? The storm ones? I almost didn't even take them, but the contrast was so strong that I couldn't resist. Interesting!!

I love the storm ones best, but the sunset is real nice, too!

I was so lucky with that sunset pic! I don't think I'll ever get one as vivid again, though you never know. :)
