Home for one day (really). Will be staying at a hotel this weekend, so I won't be able to catch up much, unfortunately. Friends list is skip 750...I'm at 570 now...will try to finish before I go to bed.

Tiny update...the show was okay, not anything special. Did get to spend time with the ever awesome [livejournal.com profile] barda and met an interesting friend of hers, and ate at a wonderful tapas place (delish). Drank a big tumbler of sangria at the Mall of America and then drank about a third of a pitcher at the tapas place. It is now my new obsession.

So [livejournal.com profile] barda and I were sitting at the booth and a guy walks past us wearing a Slytherin backpack. Very surprising. Then it turns out it's his son's backpack. Father and son wander away. So [livejournal.com profile] barda and I start talking about what House we should be Sorted into, and then it somehow went into Mary Sue territory, and then I was babbling about Draco & Harry's twin sisters (Harriet & Dracona) when I noticed that father and son had somehow wandered to the other side of the room and were behind [livejournal.com profile] barda and the boy was staring at me with saucer eyes and open mouth as his father dragged him away.

I hope he doesn't really think that they have twin sisters. I've ruined a little child's canon world!

Even more amusing...I was unpacking all of the luggage from WI in the parking lot of my apartment complex a couple hours ago when I realized someone was shouting "Hey!" over and over again.

It turned out to be a three year old in an upper floor apartment window. I shouted "Hi!" and she said "Whatcha doin'?"

"Unpacking."

*unintelligible* "What you getting out?"

"Clothes."

"Do you have catsup?"

"Yes." (A complete lie. I hate catsup and have not a drop of it in the apartment. I'm going to hell now.)

*unintelligible* "...peanut butter."

"Oh, great. I like peanut butter too."

*unintelligible*

"Okay, bye!"

*unintelligible* "Bye bye!" (Also was waving at me, but I couldn't wave back, too much luggage.)

I've had an epiphany. I just don't shout "Do you have catsup?" at enough random strangers from my apartment window.

That was a fantastically presented bit - thank you so much for sharing it!

Well, you know how it is, everyone is always saying "Learn from the leetle children, do as they do, they are perfect and wonderful".

I always think that if we did that we'd be running around and jabbing crayons into each other's ears.

Well...glad to have you back, even if it is temporary!

Have fun this weekend!

Aren't 3 year olds fun! My 4 year old says bizarre things all the time. Makes you wonder on their thought process. :D

I forgot to mention that she also said "Why you laughing?" a couple times.

It will be a difficult weekend...no help, so I'll have to lug everything in by myself. *meep*

Welcome home, even if it is for one day... and yes, we all need to yell strange things from apartment windows. Just as I feel cheated that I am long past the age where I can walk around in public wearing a tu-tu or fairy costume.

Good luck getting through your f-list. If you'd like, I can try saving you some time by pointing you to those of my recent entries that might actually be interesting (they're usually the long ones, unfortunately!)

Now I so want to run around in the mall wearing a fairy costume!

I'm just now finishing up the flist...skip 60! w00t! Lots of reading involved, very little commenting, but a giant sense of accomplishment.

Sangria is a beautiful thing. Trying to make it at home is NOT. Even more suprising is the fact that Olive Garden has really good sangria. I hate myself for saying that, because the OG is neither spanish nor really italian. Just saying. I'm not interested in getting lynched by the ethnic libation/mastication front that prowls around here.

Olive Garden is Supah-Americanized Italian food, in my mind. And the Supah should be firmly attached to Americanized because the food itself is far from Supah, imo.

I am so wanting to make Sangria, but now you're making me nervous.

Aren't three year olds wonderful? When I had one she decided to tell the spotty-teenage-pitifully-shy-checkout boy this..

'My mummy has a hairy lily'

Yip.

Aren't they great.

LOL! I love you.

So, once again you come to WI and don't tell me that I can drive over and see you. :(

And what's with the twin sisters thing? Is that a fic? Can you link me to it?

I was only in WI for a couple days, and they were very busy. :( When I have some extra time there we'll figure out a lovely lunch date!

I was just outlining the common Mary Sues that I've seen on [livejournal.com profile] pottersues...though, for all I know, there probably are fics out there with both twin sisters involved. Hee!

Do you have catsup?!

I love ketchup, not catsup. On tatertots, french fries, and scrambled eggs. I know, I'm a redneck.

My personal catsup is a lively little thing that was trying to climb the living room walls last night to get a moth that had gotten in the house and was fluttering a foot from the ceiling. There was a lot of "get down" and "bad kitty" from both me and L last night, and bumps and thumps even after we went to bed and all the lights were off. Sigh. Gotta love 'em.

Moths represent The Nearly Unattainable for cats.

The L is back in your life?

Yes, he is. You didn't know that? I assumed that you knew. He talked to G when he was visiting his dad after knee surgery... anyway, yes. Currently in a very happy trial dating period. He does dishes now, is learning to think before he talks, etc. It's nice. Not perfect and we both have stuff to deal with, but yes. Dating. We'll see what happens.

Thinking before talking? What the hell does that mean? Is it possible? :P

Wow. I wish you the best of luck, sweetie.

I am skipping in and out, shouting "La la la!" and then running away, giggling madly.

Or maybe I'm just going back to the hotel with a few ibuprofens in my pocket.
