  • My LJ anniversary is April 20th. I am composing an entry where I will write something about everyone on my flist. If you do NOT want me to do this (your LJ is flocked, you're shy, etc.) then let me know, either by commenting to this entry, or emailing me at valis2 (at) livejournal.com. Otherwise I will proceed as planned. This is the second warning, so hopefully I won't cause any problems when it debuts.

  • I am so happy to be home for a week.

  • Firefox/IE are acting very weird. They seem to be back to normal now, but it was quite frustrating last night (sorry [livejournal.com profile] aerynstales, you had to hear so much ranting!). On a related note, I've finally brought to an end a bizarre error message I would receive each and every time I booted up the computer.

  • Wow, there was a lot of controversy about SH. Not that my opinion in the subject counts for much, but I'm pretty happy with SH, and it's nice to have another "beta" looking at things. Though I do understand other peoples' complaints about the archive. I just have to say that so far I've corrected nearly everything that's been brought to my attention by the admins, and I've had no real issues yet. I sympathize with everyone who feels frustrated by the human nature of the process (i.e., if it seems their errors are being called out more frequently than others, some older works seem uncorrected and error-riddled, etc.), and I sympathize with the admins who are trying to create a quality archive.

  • I am going to see Tori tonight. Yippee! Though I've heard that it is not Tori-with-band, but instead, Tori-with-piano, which I am markedly less fond of. But still, any Tori live should be a good experience (I hope).

  • Last year my taxes totaled nearly $5000...this year, $3000. I'm so happy. I should point out that these are taxes owed, not taxes owed me.

  • I have five items up on eBay...put 'em up on Sunday, just before I left. Four have watchers. I really hope that these sell as easily as the first item did. I should really put up an item today. Or two. But I have to run off to meet up with my friend for the Tori concert.

  • I should carry a notebook with me everywhere. Honestly, I think of four zillion things to write entries about, and lose them all within minutes. *sigh* Of course, if I did write everything that I thought of, my LJ would have, well, four zillion entries per day, and people would take me right off their flists.

  • I'm so excited about having less taxes owed this year that I'm going to spend money this weekend. Heh. I have a long list of music to buy. [livejournal.com profile] morricone1900 has suggested Imogen Heap and wow, I love what I've heard, and will buy everything I can get my grabby little hands on.

  • I completely forgot to mention this, but that giant LJ entry I wrote about Fanfiction Mistakes is up on Sycophant Hex, under "Writing Fanfiction", right here. I'm honored and astonished. It's very cool. Re-reading it makes me notice yet again that the first half is boring and the second half is fun. I think the best bits are the bits about Mary Sues and POVs. It's right next to an essay by [livejournal.com profile] junediamanti, which makes me feel even more giddy and excited. So yeah. [livejournal.com profile] valis2=excited.

  • If I ever have to put my own lj name up I have to type it out because I've never friended myself. Has anyone friended themselves? Is one supposed to? I feel weird about it. Am I even my own friend, really? If I really were a good friend I wouldn't let myself eat so much fried chicken.

Oh, I'm totally cool with you writing something about me. As long as it's reasonably nice! :)

Have fun seeing Tori. I like her.

But I'm always nice! heh...

I can't wait to see Tori, but at the same time I'm so bummed that her band won't be with her.

Oh well, it will still be something to remember.

Tori!

Hey welcome back! That is so cool you are getting to go see Tori ::jealous:: The last part of your entry-i've seen where other people have friended themselves and wondered why they did that. mmmmm. But fried chicken is so good. You are just a great friend to yourself.*G* Feel free to comment about me, I think it would be cool to appear as a LJ entry!
::slips you some Pudge Fudge:: have fun tonight!

Mmmm...pudge fudge...I am truly blessed to have LJ friends like you!

And fried chicken is so my secret weakness. But only if it's my mom's fried chicken. That stuff at KFC is a little frightening.

Wah! I have no good fried chicken recipe. I would greatly appreciate it if you would pass along your mom's recipe. (Unless this is a family recipe that it's passed along.)

I can't find a good recipe anywhere. They all end up being really bland. F-ing f-word.

As to writing about me in your journal...you're on my f-list (not the same f as above), but I'm not sure I'm on yours. Regardless, you don't know that much about me, so I don't think you could do any damage that I can't do on my own.

Pudge fudge? That made me snerk.

I will have to ask my mom what she does. It is the yum, however she does it. It isn't any sort of secret recipe, and I've always thought that "sekrit family recipes" are a little...er...antisocial.

Yay! You're back. :D Ah, oh, Tori. *deeply envious*

Mmmmmm, fried chicken. Chicken fingers and I have an unholy symbiotic relationship; they're my candy of choice. Every time I visit the US, there needs to be a road trip with a pit stop at the Denny's in Nowhere, Emptyland. I have the chicken fingers dinner with BBQ sauce and Ranch, and man... it's all my love for Americana and unhealthy foods and a heaven on a plate.

Chicken fingers at a chain called Buddy's are my favorite. They dip them in ranch dressing before they coat them and then they fry 'em up. They aren't heavy or greasy, they're delicious, and I'm certain they contain 2149875632184956 grams of fat per serving.

I've recently stopped drinking so much lemonade, and I think I'm going to limit those chicken fingers to once a month. They are just way too heavenly otherwise.

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to friend oneself, because it would give you a great marker on your flist...you could find right where you left off.

I'm so glad I'm home too...2200 miles in 9 days is a bit much. Now I need to slow down. Fortunately I have the weekend free.

I have myself friended:

1. Because I am wanky as hell.

2. (mainly)so I can see my post in flist mode, and watch the responses as I browse f-list.

I went to your LJ based on the fact that you've got a Bush bashing blog. I didn't see it there.

Back when they had the Sloganator, I got copies of a load of sayings (the ones they made on the create-your-own Bush bumper sticker site before they shut it down.) Hilarious.

Anyone who bashes Bush is deserving of a listen, in my book. I'm glad you hate him over in the UK just as much as some of us here do. He has no clue how the real people live, the scumbag.

And I am 100% envious on you getting to see Tori...*gushes with envy*...I get to paint walls this weekend, and start the packing process on my apt...so how fair is that!? *Snicker* Seriously, have fun...and make sure to tell us all about it!

i basically missed my chances to see tori on this tour, though i COULD have gone a couple of times if I really wanted to, so clearly my motivation was a bit muted.

however, all the interesting bits from a solo tour like this are inevitably archived as mp3s online within "the tori community," so I'll end up hearing all the highlights from the relative comfort of my own home anyway.

but still, it feels weird not to have seen tori on this current tour. she'll apparently be back around later this year on a tour with the band, so you can get that fix later if you still feel like it! :)

LOL! Well, it's a true statement. If I were really as good to myself as I was to my friends... some things would be different.

Tori will be spellbinding. She always is. I expect the squee when you get back (or tomorrow) :) I went to an AWESOME Redbird concert tonight, a folk guitar pull. the audience was dead silent through the somgs, and the harmonies gave me goosbumps. And a violin! My weakness.
