One of those rare productive days.
May. 15th, 2005 10:32 pmI've been so involved with LJ/fanfiction/online life recently that I haven't really accomplished much in RL. It feels like I'm either home and on the computer, or I'm in another state, working hard. So today I feel very productive.
Right now my apartment is overwhelmed. Once friends & family found out that I was selling things on eBay I was inundated with box after box of stuff. I've also been buying a few more lots of merchandise to sell, and at this point I find myself in the Trail Trap, where you have trails to get from parts of the apartment to others. So I've spent a little time here and there moving stuff and sorting stuff. Just before I left last I really cleaned out the main bedroom; just a few boxes here and there now. The living room was a nightmare, but now it's less so. I have cleaned out some things, and decided, after a bit of sorting, that a box full of stuff and two coolers can go to the Salvation Army. I can't imagine anyone purchasing a cooler through eBay, not that size, at least. So I've moved a lot of things around, resorted, and I'm really trying to get things up on eBay.
I really scheduled myself for a nightmare on Tuesday, though. I screwed that up. I have a seven hour drive to the first appointment, and then I have a second appointment. A minimum of fourteen hours on the road. I've done it before, absolutely, but it will be a long, difficult day. I will have to pull out all of my best tricks to stay awake. I wish I had been able to really think about it in a smart manner...I could stay in a hotel overnight, I suppose...I have to think about it. I just like being home, and it does seem stupid to subject myself to a drive like that just so I can stay in my own bed...oh well.
What the hell stupidity is going on for the CSI finale? Nick being buried alive and eaten alive? Why? That is so crazy. I suspect that CSIs occasionally put themselves in harm's way, but I doubt it's anything like that.
I have to write. I have to write the new chapter! Argh!
I also can't wait to write my entry for the Fairy Tale Challenge on
quirkyhpshorts. I have a great little bunny chomping on some lettuce right now. I've picked a pretty obscure little tale, but it's such a perfect fit that I am afraid to screw it up.
Speaking of quirky...100 watchers!!! As of today, 100 people are watching the comm! I am so geeked! It is so much more of a success than I ever dreamed. Thank you to everyone who has contributed!
I have the oddest feeling that I wrote a drabble in KS and now I can't find it. Then again, maybe I didn't write a drabble there. I'm losing my mind. I do have a cool idea for a drabble, but I have to get it exactly right, and I am unhappy, because if I provide warnings it will completely ruin the drabble's impact.
Am enjoying a new comm...
potter_cliche, the brainchild of
junediamanti. I almost feel like starting a comm is part of the LJ fandom process, and it's cool that June has one now. It's a lot of fun too, check it out!

Date: 2005-05-19 12:42 pm (UTC)You'd be surprised. My friend's husband sold a jackhammer on Ebay. It cost more to ship it than the buyer spent to buy it. And, of course, her hubby sells this stuff, then tells her to take it to the post office and ship the stuff. So that day he points out the jackhammer and tells her she can ship it today. So she had to figure out how to package it, then drag it to the post office and have the postal workers snickering at her as she explained what it was and tried to lift it onto the counter.

Date: 2005-05-19 01:02 pm (UTC)A jackhammer?! Hahaha!
Someone sold "nothing" there, and there were no shipping costs involved because...well, it's nothing.
I've friended you in return...welcome to the insane jell-o babbling livejournal of the valis of bizarreness.

Date: 2005-05-20 04:11 am (UTC)I took the kids to Burger King the other day after my youngest's gymnastics class & they got kids meals. As the girl hands me my bags, she tells me there is a Darth Vader toy in one of the bags. I just give her a blank look and say 'oookay'. She looks at me like I'm stupid and tells me they are very rare. Um, great. Decided to check Ebay when I got home - before the kids could open it, thankyouverymuch- and found they are selling for $16 - $20. Guess what I'm planning on selling on Ebay? Gotta get a start somewhere.
