pen_and_umbra), and I giggled and ran around because I thought I had done the meme already. However, now I can't find it. I think I did a Favorite Books List and that's what confused me.
So, in the interest of being social and happy, here goes.
1) Total number of books I own:
Er...lots. I've worked at bookstores for years. I'll do an impromptu count...*dashes off* By my best estimate...eight hundred or so. I did just donate about three hundred to the library, though.
2) The last book I bought:
The Annotated Brothers Grimm by Maria Tatar (mentioned by Neil Gaiman recently), some enormous Mythology book (at least four pounds), Rules for Writers by Diana Hacker.
3) The last book I read:
I'm nearly finished with Coming of Age in Samoa by Margaret Mead.
4) Five books that mean a lot to me:
