Heh! I understand. I keep going back and forth about tLS. On one hand, people expect a big payoff for a long, long wait like this.

On the other hand, I'd like to keep this story relatively true to its spirit, and I don't think that frantic hot sex really fits in that well.

I'll probably compromise.

You're totally right...the first time is fraught with emotion, lots of thoughts, worries, and even just the little "do I look okay naked" frights.

Well, maybe we're hoping for the 'big payoff' but not really expecting it. Part of me thinks it would be just wonderful if Severus and Sarah realize that they were made for each other and go on to have 'lots of sex and babies' (as a silky-voiced man once said) but most of me realizes that this is not consistent with the way that you've drawn the characters. In a way, it would be weird if it did happen that way. The logical ending to the piece doesn't seem to be a pretty one (or one that includes hot sex *sigh*) but all praise and honor to you if you can finish it happily and believably at the same time.

AR says that to another character in 'Love Actually'. It may have been me who voiced doubt about the possibility of a happy ending because that is, in fact, how I feel. Not saying I want it that way because I don't but ...oh, you know what I mean!
