Today at the show two women came into my booth. One was very interested in something on display. First she wanted a discount. Nope. Then she wanted it, but wanted it to be modified. I showed her how I would modify it, explained how it would work. She said "I'll take it." Okay. I spend five minutes modifying said item. I finish, and now she decides that it's "lopsided" and she doesn't want it. I cannot say anything because her friend is about to purchase something else and I don't want to ruin the only sale that I will get out of this stupid situation.

In eight years I have modified many an item and never once had someone not purchase it afterwards. I was so surprised. And angry. I should feel fortunate, as the show was great, and she was the only blot on a beautiful weekend, but still, I am astonished that she wouldn't purchase it. Argh!

Also watched two totally different parenting interchange between mom and ten/eleven year old daughter. First set: Mom snapped right and left at daughter, telling her that she (Mom) was walking away now and would see her later, basically letting her (daughter) walk around the show with only her eleven year old friend as companion, and said, "If you call me on the cell phone I may or may not answer" to her daughter in a very nasty way.

Second set: Mom with girl and girl's friend talked respectfully to each other, were chaperoned, and when daughter said "I'd like to go to such and such store" Mom said no, the show is only here once a year, while the store is always here and we can come back at another time, all in a very nice tone.

People are so variable.

At some point the other day there was a big sign on an ad on TV that I could have sworn read "Muggles" but actually was "Ruffles" or something equally non-"Muggles". I am obsessed. There is no cure.

lol I know I know...it is terrible. But it was just so hard to get to a theater there, things got released later there than here and it was just hard in general to keep up with pop culture. I feel like I have been living in a black hole!
