01. Reply and I will write something about you.
You are a fascinating mix of demure sweetness and dark depths.
02. I will then tell what song/movie remind me of you.
Now this is a serious question to me. Off hand I can't come up with anything because it requires research. Let me think for a moment...
Perhaps "Say Anything" with John Cusack? You have that subversive mental energy about you...
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
Smart, and secretly pining for the fjords.
05. I'll tell you the most memorable interchange I've had with you.
Oh, our chat last night about Mary Sues/OFCs was fascinating.
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
A jaguar, mystical, yet at the same time shy and smart.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
How deep the hakker spirit runs. ;)

You remind me of Grease 2: Lighthearted, you have a joy in living, and you're proper.
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
Adorable and detailed.
05. I'll tell you the most memorable interchange I've had with you.
I remember wondering what had happened to you because you weren't showing up on my flist. Then I found you again and refriended, and you were so sweet...you said that two people had accidentally been left off the list, and one had been angry and the other had been nice, and that's when I realized that I was one of them. It was one of my first moments in LJ where I had been referred to in someone's entries.
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
You remind me of a giraffe. Graceful, finds the leaves no one else can, and isn't noisy at all.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
What your friends think about your minature obsession. I mean friends who aren't into minatures, and who knew you, perhaps, before your mini obs.

I have seen your art around, and loved it, but I don't know much about you just yet, as I friended you only recently. You seem full of energy, angst, lightning.
02. I will then tell what song/movie remind me of you.
PJ Harvey's "Who the Fuck"
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
Complicated, elliptical.

This one. ;)
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
Duck-billed platypus.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
This is kind of a question I always think about, but I noticed on your website...you mention that you wish that you could draw as well as someone else.
I wonder how you deal with the idea that there is always someone that you feel can draw better than you. I sometimes read something amazing and think, well, that's it. I shouldn't even bother to write anymore, because they've gone and done it perfectly.

What a hard question...let me think. "Cornflake Girl" by Tori.
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
Fun, energetic, scattered sometimes, just like me. ;)

Argh! I should have left this question off too. It's so difficult! Let's see...something sexy, sharp, and deep...polished...Banco de Gaia, "Glove Puppet [Vocal Version]".
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
Uh...sexy, sharp and polished. This is a bit of a redundant question...
05. I'll tell you the most memorable interchange I've had with you.
The very first time we chatted I was thinking, wow, I can't believe the Internet is so cool, I'm chatting with someone so smart and interesting who is half a world away. And it's so much fun to chat with you!
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
An osprey.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
I've always wondered why you like being online.

Date: 2005-05-29 06:56 pm (UTC)Wow. It's always fascinating to read what someone thinks about you. :) *looks up Amazon's record of "Say Anything"* Unfortunately I haven't seen that movie so the reviews will have to do for now. I second that about the MS/OFC chat! Definitely was interesting. A jaguar? Heh. I've always pictured myself as a bug, a small, buzzing computer annoyance.
How deep the hakker spirit runs. ;) *chuckling* Born with it.
Just to return the favor and because I like this meme.
01. You come across as dignified and daring and someone who follows through with what you've started.
02. You're probably going to laugh, but it's Secondhand Lions. Not just because of the title or the image of the lion running through the cornfield, but the atmosphere: quirky and fascinating and very, very human.
03. Uh-oh. This one gave me the most trouble. Probably: a student of human nature.
04. Hmm, probably when you said that you liked my habit of always mentioning your LJ handle whenever I replied. My jaw dropped and then I started laughing. It was just one of those silly things I've never noticed that I did automatically.
05. This one's easy. A lion, of course. Actually there are times when I have to reassure myself that you don't really look like a grey lion sculpture.
06. Why the lion sculptures and are they a not-so-subtle hint at Gryffindor?
(no subject)
Date: 2005-05-29 07:14 pm (UTC)#6: I don't particularly like lions. I like art that depicts lions, because when we try to draw something, we consciously or unconsciously end up enhancing it somehow. When we try to depict anything through art it seems like we pick certain traits or feelings and bring them out a little more than they might really exist. When someone has lion statues on their lawn, or when someone picks a lion as their national image, it brings out something in the lion that they identify with. No matter that the lion does or does not have that quality.
I'm fascinated by the ideas behind certain beasts. That the male lion is King of the Jungle amuses me because of what we've learned about their behaviors in our present sciences.
Anyway, the origin of the lion statue pics is a trip I took to Venice, where their symbol is the Lion of St Mark's. You can find it in unusual places. I loved it, and took so many pictures of lions. That started an entire discussion in my head about why I was taking pictures of art, which seems unusual when you think about it, and it just kept going. The trip ended up bringing out some really relevant thoughts about art and life and such. So I kept thinking about statues of lions.

Date: 2005-05-29 07:43 pm (UTC)The friends that knew Kathy B.M. (Before Miniatures) are actually not too surprised because they knew I was into all kinds of crafting. The friends I know now that aren't into miniatures are 110% supportive; they cheer me on knowing how much the hobby means to me. And they are the ones that keep me so driven!
Thanks again for your kind words, Valis. :)

You have an indefatigable spirit. And even though you are pretty strong outwardly, you do sometimes get hurt by people's attitudes. You're very certain of your system of ethics, which is extremely admirable.
02. I will then tell what song/movie remind me of you.
You remind me of...hmmm...a swashbuckler, in a way. You have that attitude of the time, to work for what you love, to make your way on your own terms, to have a joy in living.
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
I should have weeded out this question...it's redundant. But here goes. Brave, smart, and sweet. But watch out for the Ringwraith!
05. I'll tell you the most memorable interchange I've had with you.
I asked you once about which LotR movie you preferred, and you replied with a long, well-thought-out, fascinating comment that was really wonderful.
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
Heh...a horse. :) Or, sometimes, a Ringwraith, during meetings.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
I've always wondered if I can interview you about horses (a looong interview) for a fantasy novel I'm writing. Though that isn't much of a mystery, because I'll ask, and you will or you won't. Let's see...I've always wondered what you'll do when the Boromir phase burns out. Will you keep your handle? Do you feel the first flickering of the flame? Just thoughts like that occasionally pop into my head.

A giver, someone with an incredibly developed conscience that cares deeply about the people around her.
02. I will then tell what song/movie remind me of you.
"'Til There Was You", an obscure movie that I love so much. You remind me of it because there is such a sense of longing for art in the movie, for art and connection to other people. Your hope for a writing career is very strong, and it comes through.
04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.
HARDWORKING BEYOND BELIEF, absolutely reliable, very sweet, dry humor, extremely reserved, and amazing. Also quite self-effacing, when you should be shouting your talents! ;)
05. I'll tell you the most memorable interchange I've had with you.
Weirdly enough, it's the little notes in the betaing that you do. I always get excited when I see a block of red, because I know you're about to say something interesting, whether it's a challenge to what I'm doing in the scene, or a bit of a lesson in grammar.
06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
One of those migratory birds that flies miles and miles and miles across the ocean to their home. Steadfast, keeps going, strong.
07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
I've always wondered where this relentless urge to improve yourself comes from. It's pretty amazing. You also want to help everyone else so much...it's incredibly admirable.

Date: 2005-05-29 08:22 pm (UTC)And I hope my Boromir phase never burns out! It's still going pretty strong right now. In fact I feel the need to find a bad Boromir-bashing Sue story soon so I can write about how incorrect it is on my journal.
If the phase does burn out, I don't know what I'll do. *is afraid of the thought* I'm pretty sure that my Bean lust won't go out ever so perhaps I'll just move on to another character of his. :D

Date: 2005-05-29 08:25 pm (UTC)The Bean is so pretty...I can see how he would be a lovely source of inspiration for a long, long time.
Oh, and I love it when you foam about Boromir-rearranging Sues...makes me laugh. ;)
