A bit modified, but there you go. Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] privatemaladict.

Well first, I have to say that I am surprised that you're replying, because it sometimes seems that the artists that I have friended rarely interact with me. I don't know if I have an artist-unfriendly journal, or that most artists have a tremendous flist and can't possibly keep up, or that it's just a misperception on my part, or a combo of all...

01. Reply and I will write something about you.

I have seen your art around, and loved it, but I don't know much about you just yet, as I friended you only recently. You seem full of energy, angst, lightning.

02. I will then tell what song/movie remind me of you.

PJ Harvey's "Who the Fuck"

04. I will try to use a word or phrase that best describes you.

Complicated, elliptical.

05. I'll tell you the most memorable interchange I've had with you.

This one. ;)

06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.

Duck-billed platypus.

07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.

This is kind of a question I always think about, but I noticed on your website...you mention that you wish that you could draw as well as someone else.

I wonder how you deal with the idea that there is always someone that you feel can draw better than you. I sometimes read something amazing and think, well, that's it. I shouldn't even bother to write anymore, because they've gone and done it perfectly.

i think that the artist side of fandom and the writer side are much more independent from each other than it first seems. i was kinda shocked early on when the writers that i contacted and drew art for were surprised at my attentions. what can i say? i came to fandom first for the fic, and then started drawing for it :)

lightning.... i like that.

*downloads Who The Fuck*....... *likes it*

generally, i don't really have a problem with people being better than me. when i see art that's better than mine, my two typical reactions are: "well, i'll be better than that in a few months," or "wow, so that's how to get that effect! *takes notes*." in either case, i almost always am compelled to keep going, even if i get into dry spells every once in a while, like the one i'm in now O_o

Yes, I agree...I think that fanartists and fanfic writers are quite separate in many ways. Though I love seeing collaborations!

I've noticed that the fan artists tend to stick to each other, friend each other, and form their own group, whereas there are so many writers that they tend to form smaller groups. Nothing wrong with that, of course.

Glad you like PJ's song! She is awesome.

The moments where I think, oh, she's better, I'll never be able to write that well...they come from self-doubt. On good days I read it and hope I'll be able to write that well. On bad days I think I should throw down the pen.
