Though how will I be able to sleep?

Surgery is tomorrow morning. Wah. I was actually fine about it, no problems, no anxiety, until 4 am this morning. Then it sunk in. So now I'm just trying to stay on an even keel and keep focused on the end result.

I'm not panicking or going nuts. I'm just a little ooky about the before surgery stuff. I'm sure I'll be able to handle the after surgery stuff, as long as I don't feel nauseated.

Anyway, just found one of my earliest stories, which takes up three small notebooks. It is the fantasy story. It's the second giant story I wrote in high school. The first is hysterical and I should find it and post more excerpts, because it has floating cats in it (who could forget the floating cats (here and here)? heh...yes, they make a return appearance in this story) and an allegorical cat world. It was quite a fun trip at the time.

Thank goodness for the internet and for boxing things for eBay, or I would have just gone nutty tonight. Any distractions are welcome...I just have to get through tomorrow morning and I'll be home free.

Time for bed

Yeah, i always tend to get slightly freaked before medical stuff too. Little Fox, family and I will send some positive energy your way for your surgery. The floating cats sound cool. Take care, we'll be thinking of you. Swansmooches.

Surgery? You're having surgery? There's nothing there (scrolls down) to indicate that! Panic! Or... did I already know and my brain farted...

Yes! Post the story! Illustrated with floating cats! In fact, I think you should do a website, and get the floating cat drawings properly coloured in, all serious like. I think it would be hilarious!

I am getting my eyelid repaired...I mentioned it a few weeks ago which is about 1.3 years in LJ time.

I laughed and laughed when I read the floating cat commentary. I drew that batch of floating cats when I was 11.

Sadly, the floating cats I wrote about at 14 were never drawn. They only exist in words. It's still pretty staggeringly awful, though. I have to find it, I just saw the book around here somewhere.

Wow, that would be a pretty crazy website, wouldn't it?

Oh yes, I remember, eye lids, yes. We have a very famous woman here, who's name I have forgotten, she read the news for years, very gorgeous sleepy eyes, but not allowed to drive a car because she has that problem.

There's a website for a guy, he's a fab artist, who does real paintings from childrens drawings. They look great but I've forgotten the URL. Monsters... anyway, he'd do great floating cat art.

Usually people get it in their fifties and sixties and it affects both eyes at once. There are four different types; I have one that affects one eye at a time. I can tell that the other eye is going to need the surgery in the next year or two. *sigh* It will be a lifelong process.

That would be amazing...floating cat art...wonder if he could do it in 3-D.

Take some nice deep breaths. Now, repeat the mantra 'everything will go fine, everything will be fine'...

Relaxed yet? No?

Okay, plan B - here's a plate of my homemade rum raisin cheesecake squares (made with the Bacardi 151 rum that's 75% alcohol). Snarf down 3 or 4 of them and I guarantee you'll be going 'surgery? what surgery?' ;-)

My MOST significant girlfriend (the one I was engaged to and SHOULD have married) had eyelid surgery that she was worried about but it wound up being very easy and uneventful. Let's hope yours is too!

Does this early story have characters with names like Pencil Eraser, or whatever those names were in that other old story of yours you mentioned MONTHS ago? (centuries in LJ time)

;)

Yes, I know it will be easy and uneventful, honestly (the last one was messy and painful, but healed very nicely), but I'm still loathing the whole IV routine.

Actually, that story has three characters who are named after myself and my two best friends at the time, and it was a completely fanciful story illustrating our "sekrit" lives. It is pretty damned awful. ;) Nobody named Trestle Table, sadly enough.

Wowza!! Yum.

I've been thinking about this long story I wrote about Ardeth...it's unfinished, but what is there is kind of fun. I wonder if I should upload it to ffnet...then again, it is a lot of work, and the Mummy fandom is near dead at this point. And it's unfinished, which would drive everyone bonkers.

Though I have thought of taking the older stories to that...what is it? fehrdreams? dreamweaver? something like that...archive.

It's a testament to how badly I've been keeping up with my f-list lately that I have no idea why you're having surgery. And I don't have time for more than a quick glance through, as I expect to be kicked out of this library any minute now and am probably getting a parking ticket as we speak. So I'll just hope it's something minor like getting your wisdom teeth out, and wish you luck and a speedy recovery.

Looking forward to the floating cats story!

It's for my eyelid...my droopy ptosis eyelid.

Wisdom teeth are loong gone.

And I look forward to putting more floating cats verbiage on the interwebs. I'll have to look for that in the next few days...I have plenty of time, after all.

Also in the running...a Sirius satellite radio or portable, though I think they don't have a portable developed yet, though XM does.

I think I want a Zen mp3 player. I like that it has a longer battery life than the iPod.

Much good luck with the surgery. You'll be fine. And it's perfectly normal to get the jitters before hand. Even the minor stuff isn't exactly a walk in the park for folks.

Hope all goes well, and the nausea doesn't pay you a visit.
