I always liked stuffed animals as a kid, but you know how kids are...they get attached to one particular animal, and that's it.

So here's a meme...Blame it on [livejournal.com profile] atdt1991. I'm posting a picture of my favorite stuffed animal.

His name is Baby Bear. He's a panda bear. I had a giant panda fixation as a young girl. I was given him when I was four or five. He was filled with "beans" and began losing them quite soon after I got him, because he is made of felt, and it kept wearing through. Fortunately my grandmother kept sewing him up, using all sorts of odd color threads. His head was eventually stuffed with cotton because he was missing so many beans. He wears a dress that my grandmother made for him, and bloomers, and a pair of lavender pants that she made him. They're under the bloomers. I've hiked up his dress a little so that you can see the bloomers/pants.

And yes, his ears are different colors. And sizes, for that matter.

Well he's wearing a dress (!) not that I have a problem with that. Just sayin'.

And I do think he's sweet and well loved.

I don't have my stuffed toys from my childhood anymore.

I did have this floppy brown dog with soulful eyes that my grandfather gave me that I was very fond of. Wish I still had him.

Charlie has a room full of stuffed toys and he tends to rotate them in terms of his favorite.

Last year his favorite wasn't a stuffed toy so much as it was a pink plastic skull that lit up and was supposed to be a Halloween decoration. Charlie adopted it, named it Skultie, and slept with it every night. A grinning, pink, plastic, skull.

Skultie sounds like a wonderful comfort. *giggles*

I'm so sorry that you no longer have your floppy brown dog! :(

I had stuffed animals that I was very fond of (a home-made Tigger especially), but actually, it's my baby blanket that I wish I still had. It was white flannel with big pink and red roes on it, and it slowly dissolved over time - the edges of it fraying away gradually until nothing was left except a small rag that someone must have finally thrown away on me. *sniffle* [/nostalgia]

Yeah, my baby blankets had to be thrown away when I was young, and it was rather traumatic for me, too. Wah! I remember feeling awful that they were going to the dump.

Whenever I feel I'm losing an argument with my mom I'll bring up the fact that she threw away my blanket without telling me in the fourth grade. It was a Raggedy Ann and Andy quilt, and the middle layer had bunched up into the corners and there were several holes, but it was great for hugging, covering up with, and using as a tissue.

Your panda is adorable! Keep him forever.

Awww *melts*

He's adorable!! I instantly want to cuddle him.
He reminds me of my little (upright) dog...Woody I had when I was a lil un. Has that kind of 'skin'. *goes all nostalgic*

His head was eventually stuffed with cotton because he was missing so many beans.

I don't know why, but this sentence cracked me up. And I love that your Grandma made him a dress.

Oh, God--now I'm going to have to post a picture of my Green Cat...

Baby Bear is adorable!

I had a stuffed panda too (called Panda - I was such an imaginative child) and he (very definitely a "he") wore one of Barbie's hot pink glittery shawls. I'm pleased to discover that all pandas have such non-conventional tastes in clothing!

rofl!! That's great!

Pandas are just addicted to bloomers and glittery shawls. We should publish an exposé! *laughs*
