A huge thank you to all of you for making me feel so much better. It was so nice that you took time out of your busy lives to send a hug or happy thought my way. You are such a wonderful flist! I really, really, really appreciate it.

Escape (The Wombat Colada Song) (with tremendous apologies to Rupert Holmes)

I was tired of my wombat, we'd been together too long.
Like a much-played tile, from that game mah-jongg.
So while he lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed.
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read:

"If you like wombat Coladas, and throwing cod off a train.
If you're not into possums, if you've watched State and Main.
If you like shucking corn at midnight, while watching Star Trek on tape.
I'm the wombat you've looked for, write to me, and escape."

I didn't think about my wombat, I know that sounds kind of mean.
But me and my old wombat, had fallen into the same old dull routine.
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad.
And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half-bad.

"Yes, I like wombat Coladas, and tossing fish into Spain.
I'm not much into other rodents, of that I feel no shame.
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon, and share a seafood crêpe.
At a bar called the Raw Prawn, where we'll plan our escape."

So I waited with high hopes, then he waddled into the place.
I knew his snout in an instant, I knew that slow wombat pace.
It was my own lovely wombat, and he said, "Oh, it's you."
And we laughed for a moment, and I said, "I never knew"..

"That you liked wombat Coladas, and pushing salmon off a plane.
And frumptious crumpets at dawn, and watching that little boy in Shane.
If you like drawing squids on straw wrappers, and debating good or evil Snape.
