GoF thoughts
Nov. 20th, 2005 12:38 amRita Skeeter? Loved.
Moody? What an unusual performance! I cracked up.
Voldemort? Loved the interpretative dance.
Severus? DAMNIT NOT ENOUGH SNAPE ARGHGNASHTEETH.
Karkaroff? Needs dentist. Badly.
Huge portions of plot excised? Aw, I wanted to see veela. Waaaahhhhh.
Strange additions to plot? Er...why? Though honestly, the Neville Longbottom Smooth Man on the Dance Floor was terrific.
Character who popped up all the time? Ginny.
Twins? Funnier than they have been in the books. Honestly.
Draco? Where are you?
Oh, Draco's absence means more Lucius? Good-bye, Ferret. Hello, deliciously excitable and rather disheveled Lucius at the graveyard. No, keep ranting, sweetie. Mmm.
Favorite moment in the movie? Er, you're all going to say "wha?", but it's when Madam Maxine knocks the ceiling lamp aside as she enters the room after Harry has been confirmed as a Tri-Wizard Champion. Honestly, I thought I was going to roll my eyes eleventy million times at her, but she was just fine, and for some reason that moment just whacked me upside the head. I love the movies for those moments. The moments when you remember it's a magical world.
Harry's ridiculous jump out of the water and swandive back in at the beginning of the merpeople challenge? Ugh. Er, I should say, computer-generated-Harry, I think.
Emo!Hermione? Wow. Lay off the sugar.
Percy? Waaaah!! Where is Weatherby?
Krum contact lenses? Now THAT pissed me off. The whole point of Imperius is that you can't tell people are under it! That's why it's so scary!
Barty Crouch Jr? What happened to your lovely, moving, wailing scene where you can't believe your father is putting you away in Azkaban? What the hell is it with the silly frog tongue mannerism? I certainly hope that's not method acting.
Final Task? WTF!! I wanted a sphinx! Not some stupid Shining uppity carnivorous hedge.
And my favorite impression...
Not having to see a single house-elf in the entire production? Priceless.

Date: 2005-11-20 06:58 am (UTC)I laughed my head off for a good thirty seconds after I read that. Thank goodness the hubby wasn't at home, because there's no way I could have explained to him what was so funny without seriously incriminating myself.
For me, it was Lucius and Draco in their sleek black suits at the World Cup that had me drooling on my popcorn. Ooh la la. Gotta love a sharp dressed man, especially if his son's looking good too.
And apparently Tom Felton is turning 18 this year, so as soon as he blows out his candles, I am officially not a pervy old lady anymore.
