I wrote a set of haiku poems with the theme of treachery for [livejournal.com profile] lupin_snape. It was quite interesting and a bit of a challenge. It's not as dark as it sounds.

I am so sick now. At this point my throat is completely raw. I will have to go to the walk-in clinic tomorrow, which sucks, because I have no insurance. I can't avoid it though. I've already taken two days off work. *growls in unhappiness* It's the weirdest sickness, too. It's sinus drainage + very sore throat & some coughing. My usual sickness is all that plus incredible congestion, with my nose stuffed up. But my nose isn't stuffed up at all. In fact, I can smell everything. Normally I don't have much of a sense of smell, and this is driving me crazy. When we went to see Narnia I was almost overwhelmed because I could smell everyone around me. I don't know how you people with a normal sense of smell deal with it.
---
So much fic this month, I'm scrabbling to catch up in my reading.
---
I hope I will be able to write a bit tomorrow. I've really wanted to write for the past two weeks, but it didn't work out, except for the haiku poetry. I reread the last few chapters of tLS and hope to get some new words down tomorrow, if I'm still capable of processing thought.

And I'm so happy with the new aspects of FictionAlley. I'll be uploading the corrected versions of chapters 1-15 soon.

Did anyone else notice that the White Witch was wearing Aslan's ruff in the last battle scene? Cool touch. The melting crown of ice was very nice too.

I hated her dreadlocks, though. And I hated her bowl-of-soup odd neckline for her dress.

I thought that Aslan was very well done. I also loved the wolves, and when they talked, it really was well-integrated, I thought. The beavers...they were okay.

I liked the White Witch's wand, even though it reminded me of a snow globe, but perhaps that was the point.

The polar bears rawked, as did Mr. Hawt Centaur With Two Swords. I wouldn't mind a spin off...Centaur from Heaven...heh.

I'm just rambling. It's the theraflu. G'night, all...

Ugh! You sound like me but add in intense sinus pressure. And apparently I have a canker sore on the back of my throat, or so says the mom with the flashlight in my mouth. I guess 'tis the season...the cold season.

Hope you feel better soon! I would send hugs but I don't want to contaminate you further.

I am going straight to the doctor's office after I finish up these comments. I feel horrible. Sleeping was a nightmare. *whines more*

Thanks, sweetie. ;)

This week, on Scott States the Obvious: Being sick sucks. Hope you feel better soon!

My god, the outfit the White Witch was wearing when Edmund showed up at her house? I was just sitting there going WTF? Is she going to play some American Football when she's done with him?

Mr. Hawt Centaur With Two Swords. He was a bad-ass. I cannot comment on his hawt-ness except to point out: NZ casting. I'm just sayin'!

Yes, I hope I feel better soon too, you're right, it sucks. Ugh. I'm just about to leave for the doctor's office, I can't take it anymore.

That was such a weird outfit. I am still trying to figure it out. I guess she needed somewhere to pack a lunch.

NZ centaurs? Bring 'em on!

The White Witch's weird neckline bothered me too. And I wanted to see more faun-legs.

I hope so too!

And I loved Mr. Tumnus! Yeah, I wanted to see more, too. I loved the little dancing-in-the-fire scene.

Hope you're well soon. My wife & I have been trading colds for almost 2 mos. This most recent batch came, I believe, via our grandson, though my work brings me into close contact w/ so many children it's hard to be sure.

I hope you have someone to pamper you. Sickness is much worse otherwise.

If I'm not back on lj before, Seasons Greetings to you & yours.

This one is really kicking me down the steps. There's no real nose problem, which is astonishing, but my throat is getting worse and worse. I'm leaving for the doctor as soon as I finish these comments, because it's just too much.

And Season's Greetings to you and yours as well! *hugs*

Be sure to have them check out strep. That's not one you want to have hang on.

*hugs* back & Season's Greetings back.

Hope you feel better soon!

This made me giggle:
When we went to see Narnia I was almost overwhelmed because I could smell everyone around me.

I picture you sitting in the movie, surrounded by smelly, unwashed people, turning green from the rank smell of them all.

Hee!! It was rather powerful. The person next to me had apparently just eaten a bag of dark chocolate.

There was a group of kids with an adult to the other side of me, and I spent most of the movie trying to figure out if they were mentally challenged, or just obnoxious.

I don't know how you people with a normal sense of smell deal with it.

It's even worse for people with more sensitive olfactory organs. Everyone stinks! And those people who bathe in perfume... *vomit*

I have a friend who has that problem, and I empathize even more with him now, poor guy!

Love your icon, btw. I have a couple magnets from her..."She was a culture unto herself"...love those.

Ew. I am sorry you are ill. I feel like crap, but not from being sick (car accident.) And crap, I just realised it's raining. I need to get my ass home before this freezes.

Sympathies for the sickness and all; this always seems to spread everywhere come winter, even in warm places like Florida. Hope you feel better soon!

I've not seen Narnia yet, and I'm pouting upon hearing that it did better in the theaters than GoF. ;)

It did better? No way! I mean, GoF was a juggernaut.

I am just now starting to feel a little better. This thing really knocked me under the table. Thank you so much for the kind wishes!
