I so love this thesaurus. Who knew having a grudge to settle would be "having a crow to pluck"? So amazing.
Oh, and having a rod in pickle? I was thinking it might be referring to having a piece of metal in acid. Pickle is a light acid that eats away certain marks on metal, I believe, and what a potent image, keeping your weapon in acid, ready to deal your revenge...wow.

Of course I just *had* to read you user info and it just *had* to sound interesting. So I have no choice but to friend you back and read that Snape/OC-story at the first opportunity. I *adore* well-written Snape/OC stories (and thank Goodness she's not a DADA-teacher!) :)

Yay!! *jumps up and down in glee* Yes, she's not a feisty/spunky/sweet/heavenly/gorgeous!DADA teacher...I promise. ;) There aren't any Meet Cutes, no one gets pregnant, and there are absolutely no "put-down-Snape-in-front-of-an-audience-while-he-stands-there-flabbergasted" scenes at all.
