Halfway point

I'm here in San Francisco, staying at
blumsmile's apartment (hence the internet connection).
Today is exactly the halfway point. I'm only half done. This has been an absolute rollercoaster trip so far. Some stores and appointments have been good; a few have been better than good; a lot have been mediocre. Many stores aren't doing well this month, apparently.
Some stores didn't do almost any advertising. Some stores did a lot and were rewarded with a terrific turnout. Overall, I'm kind of satisfied so far, but this is the "good" part of the trip. A lot of the stuff on the way home is in less populous areas like SD and stuff and I'm a bit worried. I've done okay, nothing to write home about considering the terrific expense and effort, and so far I'm not certain if I would do this again.
I have only one Hell Drive left, I've done the other two already. I really scheduled myself a little too exuberantly. The problem is when I leave a store at 9pm and have to be somewhere else at 8am that is seven hours away. So I've had a couple nights with little or no sleep. One place I ended up paying and $90 for six hours in a room. But that's to be expected in the bigger cities.
A giant highlight was seeing
subrosax. She was terrific fun and exactly what I needed. We had an absolute blast. I so wish she lived nearer. I also talked to
gillieweed on the phone and advised her about living on Route 66. She was hilarious, as I expected.
I apologize to
luvboromir24601 and
pandora_nervosa. I really did want to meet the both of you but it would have been very strained to attempt it; I was only driving through and I didn't give myself a lot of extra time. I'm really sorry and I hope we can attempt it again in the future.
hill_ and
julian_black...you have my number. Julian, I actually have a free day there, so I think I will have time to see you, so give me a call some time in the week so that we can plan accordingly. Hill, I don't know if I have time or not, I have a lot of ground to cover, and I might not be actually stopping in your city, I might only make it to the edge. Call me if you have a chance.
I miss everybody, yes, but at the same time I barely have time to think, except while I'm driving. I still haven't managed to make a phone post, but I will try to soon.
I'm pretty worn out, but not very stressed at all, strangely enough. There is so much to do that I'm kind of just doing one thing at a time, as
sylvadin advised.
*hugs da flist* See you again on the 25th.
