Since I crave interaction, you all must amuse me

So I was thinking about the service industry. Specifically, waitressing.

I've long been fascinated with waiters and waitresses. The profession is pretty thankless in many ways, and I'm endlessly interested in the whys and hows and what happens behind the scenes. Whenever I find out that someone has been in the service industry, I drive them nuts with questions.

(I could never be a waitress, because my short term memory is horrid. And I don't have the patience.)

So I was telling subrosax all about my worst experiences in a restaurant, and then I thought, hey, I have a LJ! I can have all the conversations about waiting that I want. Heh.

And there are two sides, of course. We can talk about the worst experiences you've had as a patron--and the worst experiences you've had as a server! Glee!

( So here's story #1, wherein I feel incredibly sorry for the waitress for having inflicted this upon her... )

Small happiness for the day

I bought two sets of Ghost Hunters DVD's from Target several months ago. "Season Two, Part Two" and "Season Three, Part One."

You may remember that I whined about S2P2; the sound was horrible. I couldn't understand about 20% of what people were saying. And forget about Grant...his voice is softer, and I couldn't follow his words at all.

Anyway, I saw something about replacement disks on a GH LJ, and I sent away. I mean, what was the worst that could happen? The discs are crappy...it's not like I want to watch them again.

Lo and behold, the replacements arrived today.

I am absolutely transported with joy--they included Season 2, Part One for free!
