Hey, peeps
Nov. 13th, 2006 12:07 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I need a little help. I've been trying to entice my sister to LJ for years, and I think I have figured out how.
ENGLISH HISTORY.
You see, she adores English history, reads about it constantly, just visited England last year, and yet...she has no one to discuss it with!
She is an Anne Boleyn fangirl utterly.
After a bit of LJ searching, I've found these (relatively) active comms:
6wives (about Henry VIII and his wives),
askahistorian,
everything_anne (about Anne Boleyn),
uk_reenactors,
historystudents,
historyfacts (which I think I'm going to watch!),
ladies_of_court (apparently a rating comm! People pick which lady you are!)
and these inactive comms:
thisengland,
maryqueenofscot,
quothelizabeth,
tudor_roses,
annaregina,
philippagregory,
kingdom_united,
the_anglophiles.
Does anyone have any other LJ suggestions for English history? Anything?
Any suggestions for non-LJ English history forums?

Date: 2006-11-13 05:47 pm (UTC)I'm not sure if it's easier to access via lj or another way, but I like the daily snippets. Sometimes I decide to look further at them; sometimes I don't.
Just wondering, is your sister into Diana Gabaldon? She's written 6 books so far (in a supposedly 7-book series) that have gotten longer every time. They're more Scottish (than English) and then American history - mid-18th century, but I have enjoyed them. First book is called "Outlander", I think. No idea if there's an LJ for Gabaldon/Outlander fans.

Date: 2006-11-13 09:38 pm (UTC)Weird thing is, I've invited her, and listed a bunch of comms, and I also listed history_spork. Because h_s is a user, however, it wouldn't let me list it, saying that only LJ stuff could be included. ha!
I really do hope she joins. I think she would enjoy some of the comms I've seen so far.
