8,876 words. That leaves me approximately 1000 words for the sex scene, because I'm reluctant to go over 10,000 words...then the piece would have to be hosted elsewhere with a link, which has an effect on the comments, I would think.

Holy cow, this was a great experience, and even though it was easy in some ways, there were a few things which really threw me for a loop. I made the scope WAY too big at first, and I'm very happy that I scaled it back so far.
I just finished the rough draft. 9,993 words. wow. I didn't expect it to get so big, honestly, but it really worked out, even in the abbreviated scenario.
I am SO hoping the beta likes it. If not, I'm going to cry into the leftover mashed potatoes.
