I have a few things to clarify, and a few typos and mistakes...but...it works! It works! She followed it perfectly! It isn't too obscure! The snupin is almost finished...just one more coat of polish! 10,000 words!! Huzzah!

I am deliriously happy. Seriously.

I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.

It's part of a fic exchange, so it will be posted anonymously and randomly during the month of December. Huzzah!

Reveals will be on Jan 1st, or somewhere around there.

Congrats!! Btw, I've posted a fic with 11k words (or was it 12k? definitely 11k+) as a single entry, so hopefully you won't have any problem in that respect.

Seriously?!!

I am going to try to post it privately to my journal and see if it works if I do go over the 10K. I wouldn't mind having a few extra words to slip in, that's for certain!

Congrats!

I wouldn't edit it just to get it under 10K, btw. (I mean, edit it down if it needs it, but don't cut things that shouldn't be cut). I think McKay said she'd host longer stories at her website for the duration of the fest if they don't fit in an LJ post, so that takes care of that. :)

Thing is, I'd rather have it at LJ, it's easier to comment. ;) Yeah, I'm completely obsessed with comments, I know, I'm silly that way. *laughs at self*

I've been staggering with exhaustion for several nights, and if I stay at my desk much longer I'll wake up with the imprint of the keys on my forehead, but I want to extend my hand through the virtual distance and say Yay! For some reason, your post the other day detailing your mood swings about this piece cheered me immensely. Do you know how endearing it is (and how rare) to hear a writer confess how much fun she's having and the dreadful truth that she loves the fic she's working on? We so often beat our breasts and cry angst (or I do, anyway) about the writing process. The moment I read of your own joy in your story, it made me want to read it, too. Because that kind of pleasure is the life's blood of fiction, warming it and making it glow.

I suspect this will be good. Congratulations on finishing it with a flourish.

hee! Yeah, I had my angsty post too, but to be perfectly honest this fic made me giggle, and the writing of it was spectacularly easy at points. Somehow the prompts I ended up with were a little scary, except for one, which was this interest I have in RL that I never really talk about online, and I was floored that it synched up this way. It was a blast to write, and every time I read it I would have a bit of a panic attack about the recipient, but honestly, I would squee about it.

I have to say that I think it's good, but it isn't earth-shattering, and it wasn't painful and ultimately dark and taut like those ficlets I wrote recently; it's just a fun romp, fairly forgettable, one of those fest fics you read and think, oh, that was fun, and then you go on to the next giant angsty amazing work and that's where you leave four hundred glowing compliments. It's a fest-filler, I'd say, something unusual, and my biggest hope for it isn't comments, because I know I'm going to be disappointed...it's that the recipient likes it. I'm really crossing my fingers about that.

Now just to finish the revisions, and submit it tonight...huzzah!
