Or maybe the blergh strikes back. Evolution of the blergh...

I feel even sicker today. I know that it will take a little time for the antibiotics to kick in, but I have so much packing to do it's not even funny. The Chicken Soup Experiment was only partially successful, and now the thought of chicken soup is making me sick. (Sinus drainage often leaves my stomach a bit worse for wear.)

Good news? I got that show I wanted to get, thank heavens. Now I only have a few more days to fill.

Bad news? Tax bill is HUGE this year, and it strikes while I'm gone. HUGE. Did I mention I owe a lot of money? I will have to make arrangements to have it mailed just before tax day, and I will definitely need an installment plan. My bank account did not need this additional strain, damnit! This is probably the worst financial beginning to a year I've had in the last decade. Damned self-employment.

Am finalizing my plans, and am half-terrified, half-excited, and half-morose. On top of that, the only thing I want to do is watch more My Super Sweet 16 episodes and eat cupcakes and drink root beer. But that and the whole packing/calling more stores/printing stuff/pulling out hair thing are rather mutually exclusive. *sigh*

Breathe...breathe...make that your mantra.

Don't let yourself get overwhelmed by the list of tasks you need to get done before the trip. Simply tackle one task then go on to another. Breathe...breathe... Go make yourself a cup of something warm to drink that's also gentle on your tummy. Breathe...breathe...

*hugs* Thanks, sweetie.

For 2005 taxes, I went ahead and paid in advance, thinking that would offset the financial burden.

And then I got a refund, which means that all that money was tied up with the govt for a year...for nothing!

For 2006, it never even occurred to me to send in some money. And now I'm hit with the second-highest tax bill I've ever had. I'm just cringing right now.

I guess this is a stupid question, because you might have already done this: Is there the option that you put money away over the year on an extra account, so that you can pay at the beginning of the next year, but without paying in advance?

Good luck with the packing/calling/preparing stuff!

And I hope you'll get well as soon as possible!

*BIG HUG*

Yeah, I paid in advance a couple years ago, and it was useless! In fact, the government just ended up sending it back to me, and it was money I could have used to purchase more merchandise. So I didn't even think about doing it this last year, and because I rolled the money back into merchandise, I ended up hurting myself.

Hopefully, though, I will have made a nice foundation for some good shows for the rest of the year!

*hugs* Thank you so much for all of the support and hugs! You're so sweet.

That sounds good! *crosses fingers*

I'm very glad that I don't have to invest in goods, just in my own education and computer stuff, or in taking time for marketing activities instead of earning money.

I'm happy to hear that you appreciate the support and the hugging. &hearts *friends you some more*

Ick, I'm sorry to hear about your blergh and the taxes! :S

I like sylvadin's mantra of breathe, though. It's good that you got that show. Maybe that will offset this stress of money? Money matters get me down more quickly than anything else. I hope you can figure out a plan soon!

I looked over my finances tonight, and things are not as bleak as I thought. I'm very much hoping that it all works out!

Thanks for the thoughts! :) I'll miss you.

Hooray! I'm so glad. I was rather worried for you!

I'll miss you too. I sincerely hope your trip goes well. You deserve to get some profit to help pay off those dreaded taxes. Blergh.

Augh, taxes. They kill us every year. Hubby being self employed is both a blessing and a curse. And whenever we get a cent back - not often - he just applies it to his next quarterlies anyhow, so we never, ever see any refund money. Sometimes I really wish he had a regular job.

I'm glad to hear you got that show though, that's a Very Good Thing.

Yeah, I'm totally happy that I got that show. That makes me so very, very happy, because it alleviates one of the black holes in the schedule. *whew*

Last year, when I found out I was getting a refund, I nearly had a heart attack. I haven't had a refund in ten years!

This year? Heh. Not so lucky.

Oh. Emm. Gee!!

Okay, I know it's going to be forever before you read this, seeing as you just left, but if I wait til you return to post this, I'm sure to forget. Hubby got back from the tax man an hour or so ago and we owe:
*dun-dun-dun!* *builds suspense*
.
.
.
$12,000.00 .
Holy mother of God. He never paid any quarterlies this year - at all. We're so freakin' screwed.

I have just a second here in SF, CA to say hi, and I wanted to drop you a line and tell you how sorry I am that you're hit with such a bill. I'm going out of my mind trying to figure out how to pay for it, honestly, and I have been freaking out this whole trip...

*hugs* Hope that it's working out for you. I had to do an installment plan, unfortunately.

Yeah, he took out a low interest loan with H&R Block for the balance of what we couldn't pay. Lovely.

Come home!

Hmm...since you don't have time to enjoy them anyway, how about we buy those cupcakes and root beer off you and you use the funds to pay down the tax bill? ;-)

Congrats on the show, take care of yourself, and just remember that it is perfectly normal for us non-cephalapods to only have two arms to get stuff done with.

*hugs*

;) Thanks for the link, that's awesome! I was hoping to meet up with the lovely Duende today, but, alas, it isn't meant to be. Today's the halfway point, though, so that's something to cheer about. I'll be home in less than a month!
