I went through the rest of my books yesterday. The mass market size. I had three boxes of them...and now I have only one and a half. Go me!

I now have four big paper bags of paperbacks for the library.

I really was absolutely heartless. I realized how much I've changed as a reader when I sorted them.

Gone: Anne Rice, all Forgotten Realms books, all Dragonlance except the first Dragons trilogy and the Chronicles trilogy, some fantasy books I purchased while I still worked at Waldenbooks but never read and am not ever going to read, half of the Mercedes Lackey books (I kept the Magic's series, and the Arrows series, and a few of the Serrated Edge books), all Raymond Feist, all Patricia Cornwall, Stephen Lawhead, all R A Salvatore (good riddance!), Douglas Adams, Alan Dean Foster...it was quite freeing. If I thought I wasn't going to read it again or even for the first time...off it went.

Kept: Louise Cooper (of course!!), some Mercedes Lackey, Michael Moorcock because I have to read them at some point, Jennifer Roberson, nearly all Neil Hancock, all Melanie Rawn, CJ Cherryh's Faded Sun trilogy, sentimental Little Golden Guides about insects, reptiles, etc., all the old Han Solo and the x series, some assorted fantasy novels that still seem interesting.

I am missing some books...then again I haven't gotten to the bottom of the closet. I'll keep checking. I'm going to try to get through the entire closet today and look at all of the items mercilessly. I know I have some things that I can get rid of. It will be very nice to add to the eBay pile. I really have to get a move on with that...but I'm still trying to develop the legalese that accompanies each item, and I still am working on figuring out the best categories for the items that I have to sell.

Must go shopping today as well. Christmas is nearing, after all, and I need to start getting busy.

Chapter 58 is nearly done, and I'm happy about that, though this morning I thought of several revisions to make. I'll be uploading it today, though, which makes me happier than I can believe. Only problem is, I'll be off the outline again. I have less than a week (story time), and during that time I have to plant subtle signs of emotional involvement that will pay off when the week is over. Subtle enough that I will be happy with it; unsubtle enough that most readers will be happy with it.

I am, quite suddenly, up to 54 on the flist. Happy that makes me.

I know what you mean about reading tastes.. I used to almost live for My AR Vampire Chronicles but didnt even bother to buy the last one and I used to have two copies of each, one for reading, one for keeping nice! I never read them now.

Isn't that interesting? Books that I used to go insane for now languish on the shelves...I remember when I first read RA Salvatore's Drizzt stuff...I thought it was great...now I read it and wince.
