Beefcake on the high seas!
Jun. 24th, 2007 12:54 amMy sister, a friend and I went to see Jason and the Argonauts today, thanks to a suggestion from
rook543. It's part of a special series of monster movies at the DIA film theatre. It was a lot of fun. It was lovely when people applauded Ray Harryhausen's name in the opening credits.
I didn't remember all of the beefcake, though! It's funny how, when you're young, a lot of that just goes right over your head. There were lots of men in very short skirts running about.
Later on, Jason and his Argonauts were fighting against an enemy kingdom who wore tube sock helmets and had shields made out of Triscuits. Fortunately, they could animate skeletons to fight for them.
Then there was a tragedy at sea when Lucius fell off the masthead and died.
Oh, and one of the skeletons had an octopus shield!
