Yesterday I was a little frightened for my sister, but it all went well.

Today I am frightened because one of my dearest friends was in a car accident last Wednesday, and she called me today from the hospital to let me know. She was struck by someone running a red light. She will be alright, but it will take several weeks of rehabilitation. I will be visiting her at the hospital tonight.

My dearest wish today: that people would not run red lights, and that everyone would understand the importance of wearing a safety belt while in a moving vehicle and belt up every time.

Well, I'm glad that both are doing OK but man, what a scare!

*hugs*

Absolutely! I had no idea that it had happened.

I hope your father is doing well.

Yeesh. What awful news.

A lady I work with was in a head on collision at the weekend, and had to be cut from the wreck of her car by the fire service. She was very badly injured, and though she's not going to die, walking is still not a certainty.

Too many people do not realise they are actually sitting at a weapon when they drive cars.

I'm glad both your worries have turned out okay.

They had to pull my friend out of the driver's seat through the back of her vehicle because it had ended up on its side.

I'm glad that everyone is well and (relatively) whole too. Thanks for the support.

I hope your friend and your sister will both be ok. It's frightening how many people go through red lights and generally drive irresponsibly. I am a bit worried at the moment when I drive to and from work (50 mins each way) because of the baby on the way. Especially now the bad weather is setting in. There are so many accidents around here in the winter.

50 minutes? Ugh! I drive a lot, but usually it's freeway driving, which is a lot easier than city driving. City driving makes me nervous. I'd be a basket case if I were pregnant too.
