Prophecy, Entry Ten. Summaries: Sunday.
Aug. 7th, 2007 01:59 pmSunday
Breakfast with
marginaliana and
josanpq--we talked about the possibility of smaller, slash-friendly cons.
Later we talked with
drusillas_rain,
chinae, and
julian_black about the shorthand effect--how long it will take for shorthand to emerge. The general consensus is six months. The best example for shorthand is HBP--"After Snape was absolved of his crimes," for example. Right after HBP you couldn't have gotten away from at least a thousand words explaining this situation, but after six months, all you need is that line.
We also talked about great, famous fanfic writers, because I saw
amanuensis1 across the lobby and had no idea what to say to her at all. I mean, really, what do you talk about?
Then we wrote RPF about Julian trying to off me because I was too cheerful. "Oh, what a lovely glass of water, Julian, thank you! Ooh, it smells like almonds!"
Julian and I ate lunch, and she smugly pointed this out:

I hope you all notice that it says It's Tentacle-y Delicious. Oh yes.
Then I drove Julian to the airport.
Then I ended up sitting at the border crossing for THREE HOURS.
Then I felt tremendously guilty for suggesting that
lampblack take that particular bridge home.
*sigh*
One more entry, and then I'm done. huzzah!

Date: 2007-08-07 06:35 pm (UTC)I read the first 100 pages of a book I had brought with me. Thank goodness for that book, or I would have gone absolutely insane. No, seriously!

Date: 2007-08-07 08:24 pm (UTC)Never mind that this ad makes me 100% less likely to order calamari at that restaurant, because they just reminded me that it is, in fact, made of tentacles. ;-)
