I have just spent the entire evening racing through a huge set of listings for eBay. Usually I do the scans one day, then the cropping later, and then finally the listings themselves. Because I might not have cable for the next week, I have to get it done NOW. And scheduled. I hate paying for the scheduling when I might not even need it. ugh.

Anyway, I'm still struggling with DSL vs. Broadstar. Comcast is pretty crappy, so I think--how much worse could it be? Then again, I really don't want to ask that question, or worse will sit down next to me.

Tomorrow night I'll attend the Broadstar presentation and hope that the price offered won't be too awful. Right now I pay $45.95 for the cable modem, and nothing for basic cable, so it will definitely be more--hopefully not much more, though.

None of the handouts from the apartment complex mentioned that we'd have to pay for basic cable now. Also, the neighbor across the way asked, and they said we'd still get basic for free. However, I called, and was told in no uncertain terms that we'd have to start paying for basic cable now. It's not covered in the lease, so I have no real problem with that.

What I don't understand is the disconnect between the cable company and the apartment complex. Comcast sent us a letter saying that a rep would be there tomorrow to collect equipment--but not only was the apartment complex surprised (Oh, no, dearie, it's the Broadstar rep who will be there) but even Comcast didn't seem to know about it either.

It will be interesting to hear what happens tomorrow.

I don't know when I'll be posting again. waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Oh, DEAR. We actually have Comcast and have had good luck with it, generally--2.5 years and only one real outage.

I've lived with Comcast nearly my whole life--they're generally grumbly, but at least one usually has cable. I was surprised they went this far with the "uninstall," honestly.

bwahahah!! This cracked me up the most:

NEGATIVE: This is clearly the ninth, NOT THE SIXTH, repackaging of Mad Super Special #24.

I'm still howling. Thank you, sweetie!!
