My friend, who is completely computer-illiterate, is looking for some very basic learning software that would help her learn teh interwebz. Anyone know any sort of software that would guide one through, click for click, on learning how to email, surf the web, etc.? Most appreciated.
Also, has anyone ever bought on eBay using a credit card from a vendor who has AuctionCheckout? Was it better than other cc methods? Did you find it confusing? PLEASE give me ANY input you have--I'm considering using their services.

Date: 2008-05-06 06:18 pm (UTC)The first time was when I bought bratlet's violin. It was a bit of a pain, it wouldn't let me use the site, kept giving me error messages and whatnot, so I ended up calling the store and having my credit card processed through that way.
The second time was with a "home" ebay vendor. It went through, and somehow charged me twice. The lady I paid caught it immediately, sent me an email and promptly refunded the second payment.
I don't know of any programs that would explain how do do stuff. I've been having a friend come over and been showing her how to do things myself (she's never even touched a computer before I made her log in). Maybe someone who works with elderly people can give you some clues.
