Just fell down the stairs to our apartment. It took seven years, but it happened, just like I always expected.

Okay, it wasn't the whole set of stairs, just one step, but that's all it takes. I was carrying a huge stack of bins, and I thought I was already at the bottom of the stairs, and took a longer than normal stride and totally missed the last step. My foot came down on the ground, I rolled my ankle, and I fell on my side, hitting both the wall and the ground. Bins went everywhere. Poor husband witnessed the whole thing and nearly had a heart attack!

I'm sure to have some bruises. And maybe more, but I'll have to wait a few hours/days to see if I feel anything. Ugh!

ACK!!! I hope nothing went seriously wrong. Sometimes it takes awhile to be able to tell. I'm sending healing thoughts your way.

Thank you so much, sweetie. I appreciate it.

I've always been a giant klutz, so I'm pretty used to running into things (even stationary things like WALLS), but this was a bit more scary...

*hugs*

Actually, the ankle doesn't hurt a bit. And didn't hurt when it rolled, either. Now the knee--both knees, actually--are a different story.

*hugs*

You're going to Terminus, right?

Ice it even if you don't think you need it. Knee bruises take a long while to heal--I bruised my knees on Valentine's Day and they still hurt in May, once.

Don't you hate that? I swear, I try to count stairs and do the whole "tappy toe" thing to search for more steps.

But carrying stuff? That makes it even harder.

Gah!

The steps aren't even steep---they're relatively short, wide, and there are only seven of them! You would think I would be able to navigate them easily enough, especially after seven years. I mean, I regularly run up and down them with no worries...

I roll my ankles relatively regularly, unfortunately. I've been incredibly lucky and haven't ever seemed to damage anything (yet)...my mom, on the other hand, has broken her ankle three times in her lifetime.

I'm still feeling a bit banged up. The ankle is the least of it, believe it or not--it didn't even hurt or even feel the least twinge when it happened. But my knee is sore and my wrist, too, and even my ribs. I really hit the wall hard! Crazy, huh?

Ouch! I hope you're all right.

When I worked at the Evil Accounting Firm, a man from the council came to inspect the premises (or something). He tripped and fell down the stairs. When I told the Evil Accountant about this later, the first thing he said was "Did he damage the paint?" Fortunately, he didn't (and he didn't damage himself, either, happily). So I hope you didn't damage your bins too badly either. :-)

Sadly, one of the bins is toast. And it's one of my eldest bins, which makes me grumpy. Still, better a broken bin than something else broken...

No paint damaged, though. We have vinyl siding, and I certainly hit it hard enough to damage a lesser substance, but it held.

I seem to be okay, with only two teeny tiny little bruises to show for it! Isn't that crazy? I accidentally run into a counter and I have a huge mass of purple-green on my leg for daaaayz, yet I fall down the stairs and have only two nickel-sized marks. *shrugs* Weird stuff!
