Oh, and this morning's crack!dream

valis2Almost forgot. I won't mention the one with the house with all the whitewashed doors and the giant black poodle and the guy who was very domineering.
Instead, I will talk about how I apparently won Rock of Love at some point and was the new Bret Michaels girl. Seriously. We went to some sort of college campus so he could play a gig, and after a strange subplot involving culverts and freeway ditches, we showed up at the auditorium, which was rather small.
Bret and his band set up and then played a pretty good set, including a really rockin' version of "Ballroom Blitz," and I was dancing like a mad thing and so excited because Bret really liked me a lot and seemed to still like me even though RoL had ended a month ago. I looked around while they were playing, and most of the crowd was just sitting in chairs, bored. A few were really into the performance, and I felt really sad because I thought that the bored people weren't giving him a chance--Bret was really tearing it up!
It ended and his crew started breaking down. Bret met up with me and his guy assistant, who looked like a reject from Spinal Tap but was actually super sweet. Bret mentioned that he wanted to go somewhere nice with me, and I was so touched and excited. So we went out into the lobby and then he saw a Starbucks, so he stopped to get a coffee. However, the Starbucks was closed, and the girl behind the counter was writing sheets and sheets of paper that looked like a diary, and she gave us a really nasty look when he asked her to make an exception for him and get him a coffee.

alabastard was the next person in line, and he started talking to Bret and it turns out they'd been friends forever, and I was thinking, wow, when two of my fandoms collide, it's always surprising!
So then they started chatting while slow barista was getting slow coffee, and I realized that among the papers littered across the counter was my sketch journal! I grabbed it and started flipping through it, and was totally excited because it contained lots and lots of stuff. There were a lot of small sketches in it. Leaves, the moon, hands, all sorts of stuff. And then I found some writing, too, and I was really happy that I'd found the journal again.
Bret didn't seem too interested in the journal, and was a bit irritated that I'd interrupted him while he was talking to Alabastard, so I went back to flipping through. Eventually I found a really cool sketch which had five long "frames" on one page containing different bits of sketches of trees. One was just the curve of a trunk, another was a delicate black and white pattern of teeny leaves, etc. I was totally enthralled.
Then the limo was ready and we went to get in. Bret and his assistant got in first, but it took them forever, and then when it was my turn to get in, I realized that it was full of candy. Like the huge candy packs you get from Sam's Club. Bret was annoyed because he thought that I had put the candy in, but it turned out that it was the assistant's fault.
I showed Bret more things from the journal, and it turned out he remembered a drawing of leaves that I had done, because it was featured on a fall spotlight in the Milwaukee Sentinel.
Then I woke up and spent about five minutes going "bzuh?" and thinking fuzzily that it could never happen because I'm a big girl and no big girl would ever make it through RoL to the end. Also, I can't draw.
